So you think that Di Vaio can be our main striker? I don't doubt his ability, but his inconsistency scares me. We'd have to have someone like Gilardino or Kuranyi on our bench to get by with the way DV's form fluctuates, but come to think of it, that wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Sell Trez, promote DV, acquire Gila and play whoever's inform.

Sell him, with the money we get we could but a couple of young defenders and a replacement for him!

I don't think that Di Vaio is terribly inconsistent if he's played regularly. I definitely think that he could be our main striker, I'd even go so far as to say that I'd prefer him as our main striker over Trezeguet.

i think we should use DV as our striker
if he plays every week...i'm sure he can scorea lot of goals for us
he already banginga lot of goals while in parma...
give him a chance
remember last year when DP injured and DV started as a regular
he does his job isnt?.
buy a good and young striker...
groom him to suit our style of play...yeah!!!!

from the article posted in the juventuz news:

“I want to know my future within the next month,” noted the former Monaco star. “Either I extend my contract with Juventus – a side I want to give 100 per cent to for the remaining weeks of this season – or I will start looking around at other options.”

Any player who says that, is not determined enough to play for Juve. Davids said just that, and BOOM, he was gone. I see trez leaving Juventus this summer. I will not be mad though, if we buy a good replacement for him. But if Moggi and co. decide to stick with Di Vaio, Miccoli and DP up front, then I will start having second thoughts about their sanity.

I agree with PersianMafia, that wasn't a very positive comment to make, and it makes Trez sound a bit like a mercenary. He wants to give his 100% for the remaining weeks of the season. Yeah that's freakin fantastic David, it's nice to know you have long-term plans with the club.

Well you might consider that his future has been a question mark for like two years now. Playing for a club on a wage that is way below par, a club that won't resign him for a decent contract (by market standards) and knowing that his current expires in 2005, it's probably been obvious to him that unless he does sign an extension he is leaving this summer. So what else is he gonna say? He has no idea where he's gonna be next year.

Juventus gag Trez over Barcelona talk
tribalfootball.com - March 8, 2004

Juventus striker David Trezeguet has revealed he's been gagged from talking about Barcelona's interest in his transfer.

"These reports do not bother me," the French ace told Marca. "But Juve has requested that I do not speak on the subject and I must follow orders.

"I am calm and enjoying my football again. I am enjoying this season in Italy and my wish is to continue growing as a player and a person. And as far as I know, I will do this with Juventus."

Tribalfootball isn't good, but I don't think that they'd just blatently misquote somebody like that. I think that Juve would be seriously considering Barca's bid. However, I doubt that Barca are offering the money rumoured. I imagine that they'd try to offer money plus a player or two.

Why?
? Why ?

Miccoli, DP and Di Vaio are just not enough for a club of Juve's calibre. We need at LEAST one cherry picking striker like Inzaghi, Vieri, Ronaldo etc. to make our striking force complete. As evident, we have been struggling lately without that aerial presence as seen in Trezeguet.
