Tonight’s clash between Juventus and Lazio will mark the 16[SUP]th[/SUP]occasion Luca Banti has stood as referee in a Juventus match. The previous 15 encounters have seen 11 wins for Juve, two draws and two defeats.

Games are easier to win if the ref gives your team penalty kicks for fouls happening in the box. It's simple really.

The referee wasn't good enough; I'm not disputing that. The bigger problem was our profligacy in front of goal, but it seems apparent that you feel that the culprit was the ref more than our players. This is where we disagree.

How many easy chances our boys missed yesterday though? I don't think there were that many of them, no more than 3-5 I'd estimate. We had the control of the game, but lacked good decisions in the attacking area. A penalty would've been crucial.

Of course. A penalty is always decisive, well in most cases anyway However, Giovinco's miss in the 1'st half, his one right at the death, and Marchisio's opportunity, coupled with all those miscues in the 1'st leg contributed to our elimination more than anything else
