Tonight’s clash between Juventus and Lazio will mark the 16[SUP]th[/SUP]occasion Luca Banti has stood as referee in a Juventus match. The previous 15 encounters have seen 11 wins for Juve, two draws and two defeats.
The 38-year-old has also officiated in two Coppa Italia ties involving the Bianconeri, both saw Juve emerge 3-0 winners. These two matches took place in January, a 3-0 quarter-final triumph against Roma last year and in 2009 against Catania.
The official from Livorno has twice overseen Conte’s side in the current campaign, in the 6-1 goal fest against Pescara and the recent 4-0 demolition of Udinese.
Banti will have the assistance of Marzaloni and Cariolato as his linesmen and the fourth official will be Giannoccaro.

Yeah. Let's blame the ref for our incompetence, and profligacy in front of goal. The ref is definitely to blame for our failure to take our chances :agree:

Fickle, pathetic fans :sigh:

Not all calls are going to go your way, so deal with it. We should be winning games by finishing our chances. Using the refs as an excuse to whine and moan is what losers do.

Whatever dude. You are trying to find justifications for the defeat beyond the fact that we failed to convert our chances.

The referee wasn't good enough; I'm not disputing that. The bigger problem was our profligacy in front of goal, but it seems apparent that you feel that the culprit was the ref more than our players. This is where we disagree.

I'm not whining, just explaining a different perspective. I hope you understand ;)

How many easy chances our boys missed yesterday though? I don't think there were that many of them, no more than 3-5 I'd estimate. We had the control of the game, but lacked good decisions in the attacking area. A penalty would've been crucial.

I hear you :D

Of course. A penalty is always decisive, well in most cases anyway :D However, Giovinco's miss in the 1'st half, his one right at the death, and Marchisio's opportunity, coupled with all those miscues in the 1'st leg contributed to our elimination more than anything else ;)
