'Saudi Arabia sending troops to Bahrain'

A political analyst say Saudi Arabia is sending troops to help crack down on pro-democracy protests in Bahrain.Saudi Arabia is sending troops to Bahrain to help King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa crack down on pro-democracy protesters who took to the streets in the capital Manama, a political analyst says.

He made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday.

Bahraini police have been using tear gas and batons to disperse the pro-democracy protesters in the Bahraini capital.

Three protesters were shot dead by police in the Shia village of Daih, which is located in the suburbs of Manama.

The latest fatalities came as the protesters were participating in the funeral ceremony of another protester who lost his life on Monday.

His death prompted the opposition to call for massive participation in the funeral and to urge Bahrainis to escalate the pro-democracy protests.

Security forces have been deployed in force along the main routes into Manama in an effort to prevent a gathering that had been inspired by similar online initiatives around the Arab world.

A tiny oil-producing island off the coast of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain has an elected parliament. With its relatively older population and its liberal policies it might seem an unlikely candidate for revolt. But clashes with security forces this week left two people dead.

What caused the unrest?

Bahrain suffers from deep-rooted sectarian tensions, with the majority Shia Muslim population complaining that they are discriminated against by the Sunni royal family, which has ruled since 1783. Unemployment is rising.

Will the government fall?

The protesters are demanding greater power for the elected parliament and a loosening of the royal dynasty's grip. The government may have to make serious concessions to the enraged Shia population to weather the storm.

The government has turned on its people, struck the sleeping crowd in the Lulu square at 3:00am. 8 people already dead since Monday, hundreds injured and over 50 are no where to be found. Yesterday I woke up in the morning ready to go to work and I was shocked to hear what happened as I was in the Lulu roundabout the night before and there was no chance that the people there were either armed or by any chance dangerous. Hearing and seeing the people in the main hospital was the saddest most depressing thing in my life, blood everywhere, people crying on their dead,others looking for their children etc.

I dont know whats going to happen within the coming days, I just hope there is no more bloodshed.

All Saudi Arabia did was to turn back some Saudi Shiite people who wanted to participate in Bahrain protests, moving in buses from Qatif in Saudi Arabia to Bahrain. My house is exactly next to the entrance of 'King Fahd' bridge, I can literally have a look from my window to check what's going on the bridge, not a single armed vehicle crossed the bridge. These tanks in the video are %100 Bahraini tanks.

TBH I don't have a clear stance on all of this, but I really get annoyed by false news and rumors. This 'Political Analyst' is delusional and tries to make a pathetic story. Not saying that the Saudi government doesn't support King Hamad, but Saudi soldiers didn't intervene whatsoever. Not yet.

so far its a dictator every month!! i see 2 in one month pretty soon. not a bad rate considering no one imagined arabs in general will wake up and stop switching cheeks every time a dictator or catastrophe hits them.
