I wonder how Conte would line Italy up now that they have more good forwards than they did at Euro 2016.

Guys like Insigne, Immobile, Belotti and Bernardeschi have come a long way.

Ok maybe not. But Prandelli won a group with Fiorentina (group which had Benitez Liverpool and Lyon in it) and lost to Bayern on some bs ref game on away goals (4-4), even Van Gaal (Bayern coach at the time) admitted that Bayern scored from offside. Also Fiorentina played with 10 men in one of the games.

Meanwhile Mancini with Man City failed to advance to CL knockouts. I know he managed some first rounds with Inter in the mid 00s but always lost first round then (Villarreal, Valencia, Pool).

But Mancini was managing Galamugs when they kicked us out Conte final season.
That's just one year. Prandelli's greatest achievement was the 2012 Euro, and even then I think that result is massively overrated. Italy played terribly under him, and that unbreakable bond he had with Montolivo...

OFFICIAL: Di Biagio for Italy friendlies

The FIGC has confirmed that Italy Under-21 boss Luigi Di Biagio will be in charge for the Azzurri’s friendlies against Argentina and England in March.

The temporary promotion comes as no surprise, with FIGC vice-commissioner Alessandro Costacurta revealing Di Biagio would be caretaker last week.

A statement on the federation’s official website reads: “Following a meeting held today at the FIGC’s headquarters in Rome, in the presence of Extraordinary Commissioner Roberto Fabbricini and his deputy Alessandro Costacurta, it has been decided that Luigi Di Biagio will be CT for the two international games in March, scheduled for the 23rd against Argentina in Manchester and the 27th with England in London.”

The 46-year-old played almost 500 games for Lazio, Monza, Foggia, Roma, Inter, Brescia and Ascoli, while representing Italy 31 times, including at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups, plus Euro 2000.

The former midfielder began his coaching tenure with the Azzurri as their Under-20 Coach in 2011, before stepping up to the U21s two years later, taking them to two European Championships.

Immobile, Belotti failed us in our most crucial moments vs Sweden. Send them back to their club teams. Bring back Balotelli and Zaza. A trident of Insigne Balotelli Bernardeschi scores vs Sweden and we are now in the freakn WC !
