Another positive thing about this game is that maybe Ventura will eventually drop the 3-4-3 and switch to a 4-3-3 and of course is always nice to see Bonucci repeating his wonderfull Milan form with the azzuri :baus:

It's been left too late now so Ventura will be in charge for the WC - if they even qualify - so at this point qualifying and making it past the group stages is all I'd expect. You can picture it already, it'll be the same lifeless performances you'll see with England under Southgate.

2018 isn't a tournament timed for Italy to do well in anyway, but it should have been a first step towards a more promising future. Ventura hasn't created a balanced team and he's had long enough to do it.

Even before last night's result it was obvious he's not Azzuri material. Even if we qualify we are going there to lose and not compete.

Get Ancelotti in just for the WC if we qualify at least that way we will compete and not bend over

Ancelotti wouldn't fix anything at this point. This generation of players are not good enough and that's it. Too many starters who don't even play at their clubs. The supposed stars disappear or are always injured. No connection between the players, lack of athleticism and most are below average when it comes to technique/doing anything with the ball.

Well Conte somehow made the worst generation of players I have seen in 20 years compete and challenge for the trophy i'm sure Ancelotti can get more out of these players and make them compete to a decent standard.

At this rate we are not even competing we will go there to lose if we qualify

TBF Ancelotti just had a very difficult time with Bayern who have better squad than Italy.

But Ventura has to go. The guy is clueless and lacks top level experience.

The whole Italy team not good thing is a myth, its surely good enough to beat Macedonia at home.

Ventura doesnt rally his troops on the touchline. He didnt do anything. And i wouldnt be surprised if players also dont take him too seriously. What has he achieved? He wasnt successful player either like Zoff or Donadoni. He has very little credibility.

What trophy? I can't remember any.

Hence why I said "challenge"
Let's be honest. They never were up for it and they won't be any time soon. It's a mess right now and no one can fix it even if Italians make it to the WC.

After the WC give the chance to Ancelotti but I doubt he'd take the job. He seems eager to give it a try with another club.
