I take great pride in laughing at England at every opportunity but Fr3sh might be correct. This Italy with a shit manager and declining squad (That was never that good to begin with) are looking at another embarrassment. Maybe a fully fit Marchisio and Chiellini will change that. Until they both get injured by the 3rd group stage game.

this new generation looks promising. Romagnoli, Rugani, Caldara, Berna, Belotti, Kean etc. of the current team, if everyone is fit, they should be ahead of the britts comfortably for a while.

England were always, still are, and will remain shit. They are a bunch of self entitled pretentious pricks who will never win anything meaningful again in the world of football. Fuck the 3 lions, their cuntish supporters, and their crappy brand of football. I rejoice whenever they get humiliated or pulverized, whether it's the Euros, World Cup, or even the Olympics.

In Europe, there are three teams who are a cut above the rest: Germany, Spain, and France. After that come Italy, Portugal, Croatia, and possibly England and Poland.

what does that have to do with this game ? it is blatantly obvious that you try to drag others down in a feeble attempt to make them look as big of a fool as you are seen by most here. That would be something you should talk to your psychiatrist about and not stain this thread with, thanks.
god damn

He was AWFUL last night, that goes without saying. Thats without even considering the awful conditions put to him, but on individual level he was bad, no arguments.

But no, for the type of player he is, there is not many who have the obbsessive drive to tackle and hound back for possession. The of player I mean is creative playmakers AM/CM types who usually are too soft to who have this terrier like attitude he has. Personality thing I guess (and his hot temperament is defenitely a negative for him), but also defenitely something he worked on in PSG, he is extremelly committed to pressuring and getting back possession (in team unit, midfield trio or team pressurring, not left out to sea with dead old legs DDR vs 6 masterful central mifielders...).

Yeah he isnt someone that stands on his own in this fasion or even suitful for pivot, but as all around CM playmaker he defenitely defends more and better then most in his role. Atleast in this aggressive style (and there is a chance he might feel the need to commit even more in this way due to not playing with Matuidi anymore, dumbasses playing Pastore in that role now too). You wont be finding Modric, Pjanic, Kroos, Isco, Özil, Iniesta, Silva etc be able to do this to Messi (yeah its a clip, but its from a single game, and highlights his defensive game clearly):

Its part of his reportoire and defenitely one that you cant deny.

And no its good look for him, but its not a coincidence Verratti looks like he is complete world class player routinely for PSG, where he mastered his niche, while he is yet to have 2 good games in a row for Italy. Besides the constant injuries in national team duty, its also defenitely he is simply still finding his way and role (he is not really the kind of character that likes being the star of the team), trying to function in a way thats not allways suited to him, both him and Insigne defenitely need to be utilized better since they should be the difference makers.
Verratti's time in the NT.

That was, Conte experimenting about, but leaving once he got a formation going

And this massive idiot who's NT coach at the moment that doesnt know what he's doing ?

I cant but think that a proper coach would easily bring out the best out of him

If fit, I cant help but think "Marchisio, Verratti, Gagliardini" as a mid 3 would make him rise and shine. Preferably with Insigne and Bernadeschi out wide, and Belotti in the center

Buffon

Fullback - Bonucci - Chiellini - Fullback

--Gagliardini- Verratti - Marchisio

Bernadeschi - Belotti - Insigne

Your thoughts ? I think De Rossi doesnt have the legs and the Marchisio + Gagliardini would make a better midfield with Verratti

I know you didn't ask me, but i'd rather have Claudio CDM and Verratti B2B.

Can't say I am surprised by the result against Spain.

I get the impression Ventura is trying to copy Conte but Conte knows how to motivate his squad of average players to outperform at the Euros. Ventura picked the wrong time and the wrong adversary to try something overly adventurous. In hindsight he should have stuck with a back 3 against Spain.
