score a single goal :sergio: your entire team plays like shit, you come on and score in the equalizer after being down 2-0. he literally made the entire team better when coming on. that James goal would have sent us home so that play was the turning point of the game basically. also didnt know that if you cant dribble past 4-5 players you are a water carrier automatically, but you learn something new every day i guess.

Conte made the right decision in calling Sturaro (who is among the top italian box to box CMs at the moment) and Jorginho should also been in the team, but instead of one of the attackers (too many CFs), which is the only thing about that list i dont like apart from Ogbonna and Marchetti being there and Donnarumma and Rugani not

Sturaro's 5th/6th choice for cm role in juventus, he just simply is not good enough yet, especially to go to euro when you have someone like Jorginho to choose, even De Rossi is not the starter in Roma anymore, and Thiago Motta is garbage

i dig sturaro's attitude, he can be useful on big occasions, but imho jorginho is twice the player. i'd include sturaro in the squad on the expense of fucking immobile, but not instead of jorginho, who had a terrific season, unlike good old pals motta and de rossi.

Thiago Motta is a starter for PSG and De Rossi was called mostly because of his experience i think, he regressed last few seasons. Eder, Zaza and Pelle/Immobile would have been enough CFs so he could have added an additional mid instead a CF

Thiago Motta  He only played because of Verratti's injury

Drinkwater did NOT make it. This is their midfield list called up:

Midfielders: Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur), Ross Barkley (Everton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Adam Lallana (Liverpool), James Milner (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal).

Only suprise is Wilshire who was out injured for ages, but essentially he is the most natural AM/technical playmaker type of that midfield.

that was exactly mine and guys from Squawka point, he SHOULD have been there, match fitness of Wilshire, Henderson and Sturridge is questionable

I realized you mean Drinkwater should have made it afterwards, imo best bet to make it instead of would been Henderson, Dier is essentially his holding mid, the position Drinkwater plays, and Dier is little bit better then Drinkwater in overall for me. Barkley is better then Drinkwater and will play next to Dier prolly, rest are either more offensive or just box to box runners like Henderson.

i don't really follow England, who's gonna play CM? Henderson and Barkley? the players available are far from impressive.

It depends really, I'm guessing if all healthy Milner, Henderson and Wilshire, with Barkley and Dier being first alternatives for either those. He weakened his holding mid options by not calling up Drinkwwter.

I'm curious to see if he is willing to start one of the wonder kids in Alli or Barkley.

England will make the Quarters, possibly Semis. Hopefully those cunts don't go beyond that. As always, I am hoping and wishing for English and German capitulation. Italy suck, so I don't expect them to do much, but I'd love a France vs Belgium final.

Drinkwater was laughably bad against Australia, but yeah, the link with Vardy was worth the risk. England have a swathe of either seriously out of form or barely fit midfielders, plus a shit defence, so they are badly relying on scoring lots of goals.

Alli will start, most likely Dier as well. Rooney in some playmaker role, either Wilshere or Milner as the other CM (maybe the latter when Alli starts, for balance).
