Conte is seriously obsessed with Giaccherini.
He always performs for him though.

In all seriousness, given the absolute lack of talent this Italy midfield & attack has (without Claudio & Verratti), it's probably better to go for the ones that can grind out results if he wants to reach ~quarters. He won't ever get beyond that with those players though.

England is a likely opponent in QF (after Portugal in R.16, and if Italy finishes 2nd in their group while these 2 win theirs) so i wouldn't say thats their maximum. Spain in SF might be it, but I wouldn't bet on it

Conte will play with 352. Candreva and Bernardeschi were used out wide in the recent friendly against Scotland.

With that defense and goalkeeper anything is possible I think people are counting them out too early.

i wouldn't say italy absolutely lacks talent. both insigne and el shaarawy are super talented players - too bad they practically play the same position, so odds are they never be fielded at the same time. also, i genuinely thinks that zaza can be a match decider if given the chance.

the midfield is mediocre, though. conte's biggest chance might be to play for a 0-0 draw, and hope for a good cross finding pelle's head. :snoop:

Happy for Sturaro that he may potentialy get to play some minutes in such a tournament, another moment like that famous defending on James in cl, and he could grow alot more in confidence, just like how Bonucci transformed after the previous euros.

Why would possibly a Juve fan bitch about this selection, as if Jorginho is 2nd coming of Pirlo with the already light midfield of Italy.

Good choice Antonio

Nah not understandable at all, Jorginho is defenitely superior.
As I said they play different positions. Jorginho plays as a regista an Italy already has Motta and De Rossi there, Sturaro plays CM and there are much less options there for Italy at the moment. I don't see how it isn't understandable.
