The Croats maybe but I cant imagine the Irish giving the Italians a hard time.

But its not Italy's defence that worries me, it's their attack more. I never thought Rossi would be so essential to the team. There's no player with his good movement and link-up play in Italy's current squad.

Barzagli could miss Euro 2012
By Football Italia staff

Andrea Barzagli could potentially be ruled out of the 2012 European Championship after the Italian picked up an injury.

The Juventus stopper has suffered a calf strain that Azzurri medics fear could see him sidelined for the next 20 days.

Italy are set to assess his condition before making a decision on whether to replace him in the squad with another stopper. They will have until 24 hours before their Spanish tie on Sunday to request a squad change.

Inter’s Andrea Ranocchia would be in pole position to be called up as he was in the 25-man squad before Cesare Prandelli reduced it to 23.

Reports today suggested that Italy could try out a Juventus three-man defence consisting of Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini at Euro 2012. A 3-5-2 now seems unlikely.

Italy lost 3-0 to Russia on Friday. Their preparations for the tournament have already been hampered by the match fixing investigation and an earthquake which saw their Luxembourg friendly cancelled.

I'd use DDR as one of the CBs, then play Monto. Max out the passing ability and hopefully hit up Balotelli on the break.

Cass-Balotelli
Balzac-Marchisio- Pirlo- Montolivo-Maggio
Chiellini-Bonucci-DeRossi

Balotelli picks up injury - report
By Football Italia staff

Italy’s injury fears for Euro 2012 have taken another turn for the worse as Mario Balotelli was reportedly forced to abandon Monday’s training session.

Following on from the recent news that defender Andrea Barzagli could miss the Azzurri’s entire group stage because of a calf strain, there are now concerns over Balotelli’s availability after he had to leave the team’s afternoon training early.

The Manchester City striker is believed to have pulled out complaining about discomfort in his right leg, with reports split between if this centres on his knee or his thigh muscle. The striker will now undergo tests to clarify this and to determine the extent of any possible damage.

Italy kick off their European Championship campaign with a mouth-watering Group C tie with tournament favourites Spain next Sunday in Gdansk.

Di Natale-Cassano up front :snoop:

This is both Di Natale's and Cassano's chance of finally doing something with the NT. Hopefully they won't $#@! it up.
Cassano is not anything near sharp at the moment.. Giovinco is on the serie a team of the year.. Prandelli would go for Cassano but experts would go for Giovinco..
