This guys make the team that played vs Argentina even more depressing.

Total control of the match while being very direct. Maybe 6 shots on goal or something like that. The prospect of Verratti, Chiesa, and Scamacca being added to this team is exciting.

Spinazzola is probably the least involved from the defense. Mancini, Bastoni and Calabria have been excellent even if not tested so strongly. Barella showed all his talent with that goal.

Great understanding between the front 3 and Pellegrini who is a necessity, needs to start every important match. He is becoming a monster of a player.

Gnonto looking really intelligent, drawing defenders, making the right runs, linking up, no fear of taking on his man, made the right choice to draw a defender and let the ball pass for the second goal. Fantastic talent.

Pellegrini, Barella and Bastoni are way above the rest in terms of quality.

The dissonants are Mancini and Cristante, both from Roma. Mancini is defensively good, but his passing is awful today. He thinks is Beckenbauer or something? Cristante is clearly nood good enough. Really slow, lots of fouls, no creativity, litteraly nothing. Bit like AliExpress Jorginho and that says enough.

Only stand out quality of Cristante is that he is great in the air. Otherwise the sooner he is displaced by Tonali the better.
Tonali isn't going to get near any starting line up when everyone is available so I don't see the issue with him. Let him have his 15-20 caps until one of the talents ousts him.

I guess you mean Cristante? If so, agreed. Tonali should be a starter soon-ish or at least in close rotation like Locatelli is now.

Locatelli is a lot better as a mezzala than how Allegri has been using him.

Yeah sorry not sure why I typed Tonali. He will clearly be a first team regular, at least in rotation. I can see Cristante ending up a 6th or 7th choice at best, Italy seem to be producing CMs and nothing else right now.

Good solid win for Italy.

Mancini should have started some of these guys against Macedonia. The team playing tonight would have won comfortably against them.

Oh well. I still think Italy have a bright future, some decent talents coming through.
