Like the game in Switzerland Italy were once again a bit unlucky not to score, but Jorginho once again ruined everything. Two missed penalties where only one goal was needed to make Italy almost certain to qualify. Jorginho had solid penalty gimmick, but the good keepers have figured him out already. We saw that in the final and in the previous game against Switzerland.

Hypothetically, if Italy screw up in the last game and need to get the play off, which group are their likely opponents going to come from? Or is it a random draw?

I'm just wondering about the possibility of a Italy Portugal playoff incase the latter don't top their group either. There there could potentially be Croatia, Poland, Sweden....none of which are straight forward ties.

Truthfully, I expected a draw here. Switzerland are a solid team and they can give anyone problems, not to excuse Italy though of course. Hopefully with a solid win in the next match automatic qualification can be assured.

Italy are fortunate that H2H isn't a factor; otherwise, even a win against N. Ireland would have sent Switzerland to the finals, provided they win against Bulgaria.

I think Italy should win 1-0 against N. Ireland, and I doubt Switzerland put 4 past Bulgaria.
