I agree with this more than with UEFA's star of the match. Chiesa did play a great game, particularly grew as the match went on, but Verratti was surely the best. Outstanding performance, wouldn't know that he has been injured for over a month.

I look forward to seeing Verratti play with the starters and combine with Insigne, Spinazzola and Barella. I guess he will start vs Austria if he is fit enough.

Bonucci's absence was felt when he went off, same as Chiellini when he got got injured. Acerbi is always solid but also has an extra mistake in him, shown in both matches so far. Opposite to Bonucci and Chiellini who have played perfectly so far. I know this forum loves to hate on Bonucci but for Mancini he resembles pre-Milan Bonucci and Chiellini is always Chiellini. Bastoni gave me more confidence than Acerbi too, that kid looks amazing. I hope Mancini trusts Bastoni over Acerbi.

Bonucci is fine if you have a top class midfield in front of him to protect him from runners. But he still sucks at aerial duels regardless.
