I rather bring Ogbonna than Astori, he been great with West Ham this season and he gets along with the rest of Juventus back line. A bit risky to let Zappacosta go considering the only fullbacks mentioned in that defender list is Darmian and De Sciglio, unless Florenzi and Giacherrini will be played that position as well.
Yes Florenzi and Giaccherini are considered wingbacks in that team. I'd be surprised if Ogbonna makes the team he is so lazy that it's not even funny.

Surprised Romagnoli didn't get called since Rugani did

Rugani has always been the better player and now that he has chemistry with the other Italy starters it's a no brainer.

Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Federico Marchetti (Lazio), Salvatore Sirigu (Paris Saint-Germain)

Defenders: Davide Astori (Fiorentina), Andrea Barzagli (Juventus), Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Angelo Ogbonna (West Ham), Daniele Rugani (Juventus), Matteo Darmian (Manchester United), Mattia De Sciglio (Milan), Davide Zappacosta (Torino)

Midfielders: Marco Benassi (Torino), Giacomo Bonaventura (Milan), Daniele De Rossi (Roma), Alessandro Florenzi (Roma), Emanuele Giaccherini (Bologna), Jorginho (Napoli), Riccardo Montolivo (Milan), Thiago Motta (Paris Saint-Germain), Marco Parolo (Lazio), Stefano Sturaro (Juventus), Antonio Candreva (Lazio)

Forwards: Eder (Inter), Ciro Immobile (Torino), Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli), Graziano Pellè (Southampton), Simone Zaza (Juventus), Federico Bernardeschi (Fiorentina), Stephan El Shaarawy (Roma)

Wow, Eder to end up top scorer at Euro 2016 then.

Sturaro sneaking in there too :D Gotta love Conte.
We are apparently interested in signing Berardi and Saponera and they did not even make the last 30. I cant remember a worse Italy squad and they dont even get called up. Even though Conte has some questionable choices it still makes you wonder about the quality of the players and if they are Juve material.

It isn't surprising, why do you think Giaccherini is still in the squad? Berardi and Saponara both have had much better seasons than him lately. Top scoring Italian striker Pavoletti out, while Eder in bad form is selected. Sirigu selected ahead of Donnarumma. Conte is particular and weird.

thank god i can't read it. i bet it was hilarious though.
I would put you on my ignorere list aswell, but I just cant live without all the LOLs and the funny pics. It enriches my day, and the total lack of argumentation is a breath of breath of fresh air. I just cant handle all the members on tuz, who comes here to discuss Juve, present there arguments and actually respect that other people can have different opinions about various subjekt without trying to insult them in any given situation.

Conte is big on "Grinta" - not satisfied unless all of the players pass out after the game. When he was at Juve he was big on this and to his credit he would work on set plays a lot. It would be a very well organized workman and physical like style of play - not as much of a tactician as say an Allegri though. Don't expect flair or anything of that nature. It will be the kind of team that can give anyone a run for their money but ultimately the lack of quality will be evident when we face the more gifted teams.

Paradoxically, given the lack of quality in general, he is probably the right guy to manage the national team.

He is not big on turnover - so expect his high intensity will take its toll and the team will burn out during the knock outs should we get there.

pirlo's absence is quite surprising. conte has been playing with a regista all along during the past 5 years. there's no marchisio, no verratti, no pirlo - either he plays montolivo, or without a regista. any of those makes sense.

My guess is he plays Jorginho as registra or he plays with 3 workman like mids and uses Candreva as one of them and plays 2 centre forwards up front. I don't know what he is thinking but I guess he might do something like this:

-----------------------------Buffon----------------------------

---------------Barzagli----Bonucci----Chiellini---------------

Darmian----Candreva----Jorginho----De Rossi-----Florenzi

----------------------Pelle`---------Zaza----------------------

Basically - expect a lot of long balls and hope for the best and get everyone to chase down everything and "spit blood" That is so Conte.

Part of me wants to see them triumphing as I'm an Azzurri fan of course, but then there's Conte, the epitome of filth himself.

my bad, i forgot about jorginho. he hasn't been a regular under conte, as far as i remember, hasn't played any qualification matches. conte played de rossi as a regista a couple of times, but he and candreva had the worst seasons of their careers, they shouldn't be near the starting lineup at all.

buffon, our defensive trio, florenzi, darmian are solid starters, i'm not sure about the other ones at all. that's a weak squad, most probably the weakest i've seen since i've been following football ('86).

Best Italian team on paper would have been the one in Italia 90. Lippi's 2006 team was not that crash hot but they got it together in the end.

In Tournaments, teamwork and luck play a very big role.

The best Italian team imho was 2002. That team was head and shoulders above anyone else.

Yep that was a pretty good side - but perhaps the most disasterous campaign given the potential. That had a prime Totti, Del Piero, Vieri, Inzaghi. Defence was amazing and so were the strikers. Only issue was that midfield was very average in that year. 2006 midfield was a lot better even if the strikers were worse.
