I think everyone should always root for their home team, but I see no problem with being a fan of another national team. Take me for example, I will always cheer for the Azzurri no matter what. But I'm still a fan of the German National Team.

I was born in Canada, but only by accident. My parents and grandparents kept visiting Canada and during one visit I was born. When I was a kid I spent much of my life in Italy, but now I am back in Canada and studying History. I have a dual-citizenship, I'm both Canadian and Italian. But even though I was born in Canada, I will always root for Italy. (Given the circumstances of my childhood and how I was raised) I cheer for Canada too but...yeah Canada isn't the "best" at football. But I am always happy to see if they win.

So why are you a fan of the Germans then?
I think they play exciting football, and have some great players on that squad that are a joy to watch.

Is that a problem or something?

Obviously Italy, Canada > Germany. But I still like watching them.

No, I like the Germans too but I wouldn't consider myself a fan of any national team other than my own.
I guess I used the wrong words then, so let me reword it. I will always go for Italy AND Canada, but I find it enjoyable to watch other teams like Germany.

BTW, back to some Azzurri talk. I really think Matri would be more beneficial to the team than Pazzini.
