LOL. I wasn't born until 1983, but that reminds me of the World Cup 2006 semi-final against Germany. I was watching the game at my parents house and when Grosso scored I picked my sister up and lifted her up so high she hit her head on the 9ft ceiling too. Considering she was 21 at the time it made it all the funnier.
Those are just pure joy moments that don't come along very often to a lot of fans. The adrenaline kicks in and you are flying. I remember walking 4 miles home after the WC final 2006 in bare feet, I didn't realise my feet were cut up from glass until I saw red all over my bathroom floor. And honestly I was not even that drunk, I was too nervous during the game and just sang and rode around for hours afterwards.
I would love to have seen that great Juve and Italy of Zoff, Scirea, Gentile, Cabrini, Tardelli, Rossi etc in the flesh, but life doesn't work like that, and we all get our moments in the sun eventually.

2006 was nuts. Even though I was 13 I still remember going downtown and staying out all night. When grosso scored I went outside and screamed in the street. Came back in just in time to here the commentator say "Del Pierooooooo Berlin here we come!" And ran right back out in the street. Definitly the best summer of my life.

yes yes I have to agree 2006 was epic! Great year for me as well personally.... We won the World Cup, then a month later I went to Italy to visit my relatives with my then girlfriend, now wife to whom I proposed to on that trip. Was an epic time! Italy was all party that summer! Flags everywhere, the bancharelle selling knock off azzurri shirts with 4 stars, was just so amazing!

Prandelli to face England with youth

Reports indicate that Cesare Prandelli will include several young players in his Italy squad for next week’s friendly with England.
The European Championship runners-up are back in action next Wednesday with a friendly against Roy Hodgson’s men in Bern, Switzerland.
Whilst he has yet to name his squad, there is speculation that Prandelli will be calling up a number of new faces for a trial.
Stephan El Shaarawy, Marco Verratti, Mattia Destro, Fabio Borini and Manolo Gabbiadini are all speculated as being included in the Azzurri’s selection.
Next week’s meeting with England is a repeat of this summer’s quarter-final clash between the two nations at Euro 2012, which the Azzurri won on penalties after a 120-minute stalemate.
