Prandelli has done a great job since becoming Italy's manager. They cruised through qualification regardless of the Serbia incident, he has the team playing some decent football, picks players on merit (only complaint is no Abate) and has them playing a formation that for the most part suits the players strength. My only concern is in central defence, where we look pretty average at best compared to the old days. Also need to give Abate a chance at RB, I think hes the best Italian fullback at the moment.

I'm not sure if this team is good enough to win Euro 2012, but if the team continues to develop, and a few more good talents are produced, they will have a very good team in Brazil 2014 IMO.

Forget playing like Spain, Im so sick and tired of hearing Spain this Spain that! So they're having a great period but Itay has the pedigry and experience not to need to mimic any other nation. We have 4 World Cup titles, have had much more success than Spain. Forget Spain, BE ITALY! Build a young squad and get back on track to winning trophies! Prandelli is doing a fine job, I just wish he would play Balo more and call up Abate!
You're just being irrational and jealous. Everyone should play the football that barca and Spain play because that's the way it should be.

"Italian icon Dino Zoff is also oft-mentioned in charts like this,". "Depending on sources and method, he's been listed at 1,142, 930 and 903 minutes for 1972-74."

FIFA class the record as the 1,142, so that stands.

Juventus achieve another Azzurri record

March 1920 – September 2011. Juve’s strong link with the Italian national team has been in place for almost a century. A bond that was first formed 91 years ago, when goalkeeper Giovanni Giacone gained his first cap for the Azzurri.

The total number of international caps achieved by Bianconeri players has now passed beyond 2,000. The seven appearances made in the games against Faroe Islands and Slovenia by Gigi Buffon, Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Pirlo (two each) and Claudio Marchisio sees the club now sit on 2,005.

Juventus remain the undisputed holders of this appearance record. Inter and Milan are currently trailing behind on 1,362 and 1,195 respectively.

Meanwhile, another record is on the horizon. Juventus players have scored a total of 249 goals whilst representing the Azzurri, with the next strike representing a significant achievement – a round 250.
