Sounds like they fucked him over on purpose and he knows it. This is really uncommon for a player to speak like this about a club he is signed to. Shits may still go down if i was him id stay in turin and train with us untill they terminate his contract. If a company i worked for treated me like this i would quit fuck money this is about principle and honour.

Everything that I am reading is intimating that the financials of the deal were actually completed last night. And if they let Witsel leave the NT and take a medical and sign a contract with us, then I really don't know what to say.

Why would a team allow its player to take the medical and sign the contract? And all of this talk about how we can't blame Zenit for backing out because of the lack of a replacement. Well, if that is indeed the problem, then why did they let him leave to do all of this in the first place? They should have just said No, and that was that.

I didn't realise it was all done but I guess they didn't find a replacement. But yeah fuck Zenit, Marotta should've learnt however.

Should have learned what, exactly? The deal was apparently agreed upon last night

He didn't walk into his office, get on the phone with Zenit, and make an offer to them with only 8 hours to go in the window. This was a deal that had been in the works for at, the least, 48 hours, especially considering that the coach himself said it was being negotiated.

So what should he have learned, Sal? Not to trust anyone from the Russian League? Maybe, but that says a lot more about Zenit than it does to us. If he had actually only started negotiating today for Witsel, then yes, I would have agreed with you.

Tbh Zenit did us a favor, Witsel is average and would have not improved us whatsoever
Irrespective of whether or not he would have improved us, which I think he would have, especially with Asamoah and Lemina gone for the AFCON cup, that is an awful way to do business if you are Zenit.

so they still told him to go to Turin, pass a medical and miss his game with the NT while knowing they wouldn't sell him to Juve. Nice set of principles dem Komrads.
idiots, now they end up with an unmotivated player

good that beppe always makes the best out of players who don't want to be here anymore

But he was the contingency plan..We set a standard of quality that we won't go below hence Witsel was as far as we know our plan C or D, I can't balem Marotta for Zenit fucking it up and for not having a plan E..It was a depth signing in a splendid mercato
