Matuidi is better than Witsel, but that isn't saying much really. Neither are good enough for Juventus, at least not in a starting capacity. Perhaps as 5th or 6th choice midfielders, they could do a decent job, but I was under the impression we were looking for higher quality, especially if we are offloading both Pogba and Lemina.

In terms of quality I think Witsel is solid, but not good enough to be a starter for us. I guess the big question is what our intentions would be with him. If the idea is to buy him as a back up midfielder, I'm okay with that. But only then. And I'd have more faith in Lemina than Witsel anyway tbh.

I want the bench players to be dependable, great mentality/determination and good at something. That can be 'even more mentality/determination" or a technical thing.
I dont want a wet towel on the bench who's useless

Or lack thereof.
I would prefer Witsel or Matic over Matuidi mostly because I prefer A.Sandro (wingback) and Pjanic (cam) to go forward and someone to cover for them. Matuidi runs a lot and gets into good positions but imo it's counterproductive because he doesn't have the quality to convert to an occasion. Matuidi get in the way of better players, that's the impression I got of him from what I seen of psg and France.
