I'm not either, but defenitely this forum underrating him by saying he is so bad, he has been very solid for PSG for several years, runs nonstop and intelligent runs into the box and contributes offensively. Quite limited still, but defenitely not as bad as he is made to sound like.

I prefer avoiding both btw. I seen Witsel less, but the times I have I was rarely ever close to being impressed. Just well rounded decent player nothing more.

If he's as bad he's claimed to be he'd never start for France or PSG. Both being top teams. Regardless I don't think he's what we need, I'd rather go for a matic type of player, a solid DM, Herrera or a versatile and technical cm like witsel.

Also more than any cm, I want kwadwo up and running.

I think they're both similar in terms of ability, but with different qualities. They're botch decent, but neither should be a starter for Juventus. BTW, considering how long the talks with Zenith are taking, I think our board sees Witsel as a back up too.

First, I'm gonna admit that I'm rather clueless when it comes to this player. I've voiced some strong opinions earlier that I don't want him signed, but truth be told I haven't really seen much of him.

It's just that when I have in fact seen him, he has never stood out as a world class player to me.

I've been trying to study him more closely during the last week, with a sharper eye (yes, based on Youtube and such, so maybe what I'm about to say is wrong) but what I'm seeing now is someone who seems very confident especially in his defensive capabilities. I love what I'm seeing so far in terms of how fast his reactions are, and how he positions himself. He's not the type of player that will impose himself on the game as much as Pogba does, and he won't have as many brilliant dribbles and long-range screamers, but he does seem like a classy player when it comes to defending and passing.

I'm beginning to think that this might not be such a bad signing after all. If players like Alves, Sandro, Pjanic, Dybala and Higuain can supply the goods offensively, I'm actually starting to believe that Witsel could serve a great purpose for us defensively. I'm noticing that he has a very good first touch. His passing and positioning seems way better than the likes of Matuidi, Gustavo and Herrera.

I think this could actually work out.

Thats a pretty acurate description. Good player but not good enough to be starter here. Same with Witsel.

Last summer we did a lot to lower the average age of the squad and it almost cost us the Scudetto. This summer we are apparently selling our younger players Morata, Pogba, Lemina, Pereyra, Zaza, and bringing in older players Alves, Benatia, Higuain, Matuida. So a lot of the players we where going to build our future around is gone and replaced by "short term" solutions with only a few youngsters left. This means that we will have another overhaul of the squad next summer or the summer after that, and we will have to finance that overhaul, by selling somebody with real value like Dybala, AS or maybe Pjaca. So apart from being not good enough I think the age issue is worrying.

A grand total of 10 games, and most of them with the Belgian national team. I have seen him play 3 times for Zenit, in their CL encounters.
The only game he has played in his normal position for Belgium over the last few years was the one against Ireland last Euros.

Your description is pretty accurate. There's definitely some quality there, but as Juventus fans I guess we want someone like Verratti.

I've never watched him either but after reading what you wrote it seems we see him as a more polished version of Lemina and thats why we're willing to sell the latter for 20m+ so we can bring Witsel in.

who cares if watched him. When an athlete looks cool, then he is cool and good. It's how it works at UFC, you know who will win when you see the fighters in the cage haha

@Xperd and I have been saying this for a while now. Is actually a good, solid player. Nothing spectacular. But we don't need spectacular. This team is already filled with it.
