The color's alright. I've never seen a golf with bad color, except for bright green ones.

My preferences are silver and black. That one is pretty nice too. I like the tail lights. You get actual rims and not hubcaps like mine :sergio: :p

But yeah, it looks nice. The mileage would be the only thing of concern imo. But if it's been taken care of, should be fine.

Yeah I was more inclined towards the silver or black ones at first, but they're so common over here that the gold would stand out at least.

Mileage is a bit high alright, but as you've said it's well looked after. Hoping to sell my bike soon and go have a look at this Golf when I've got some folding money in my pocket

oh alrighty i got you now, thats good logic  have u thought about toyota yaris, they have good reviews?
:agree: my man :D

I had to use my mother Yaris for a few months back some years ago, never again. I don't know about the rest of the world, but here it's considered a real granny car, got so many funny looks :sergio:
What model? I have one from 2008, hatchback and it's a great city car that can take even some longer trips. I'm really satisfied with Yaris, although if I had ti pick between Yaris and Golf I would choose Golf. It's in higher class and better car overall. The only bad thing is that 1.4 engine is to weak for a car like Golf

It's a 05, think its a 1.1 litre, absolutely no power and very jumpy. The 08 model is a much better looking car btw.

How much does a 02 golf go in your parts? where are you living btw?
I always like the dark colours when it comes to VW,I'd go with dark blue..but you are right, the gold does stand out.

Yep Ireland, for a 02/03 they go for anything between 2,500 to 3,700. I'm at a bit of a crossroads at the moment, the 1.4 litre is cheaper for insurance but the mpg isn't great whereas the 1.9tdi or regular diesel is cheaper to run but almost twice the cost for insurance :(

Oh ok. I know faster cars are mor expensive to insure but I didn't think the difference between a 1.4 and TDI would be that big.

Ya, by about 350 euro. It;s definitely a big jump seeing as how its only 25-30 bhp more. It could possibly even out over the course of a year though, but how could you forecast it?

I guess the first step would be to average out how far you'll drive a month. Then just calculate how many liters it'll take for both petrol and diesel, multiply that by the respective price and then compare it to the insurance.

In the words of Homer J Simpson ''can't someone else do it'' :D

No but seriously, I am gonna sit down and work it out before I make a decision

You still looking at the BRZ as an option?

Gotta say I'll be seriously jealous, great looking car. I Guess you wouldn't have to worry about fuel costs as much living in the States? You guys and your oil :seven:

:D Yeah, let's hope I get it sooner rather than later.

Gas is a little less than $4 a gallon right now. Still cheaper than over there but it's not exactly cheap :D
