Here some players from Bundesliga, that could be worth a deeper look/keeping an eye on and shouldnt be impossible for Juve to get (most in the summer though):

So we're 55% of the size of the other large players in revenues (~300MM vs. RM @550MM), you would think if RM can have a team constructed solely of highly priced stars, we could at least have a few, but instead we insist on gambling on young players or picking up veterans on discounts. Don't get me wrong, I like being thrifty, but it would be nice if we could occasionally pony up the cash necessary to buy a bonafide world class player.

I'd really like it if we could be talking about Eden Hazard or James Rodriguez instead of Ezekiel Freakin' Lavezzi, who Napoli doesn't even want because he is too old. Lavezzi is Lazio quality.

He's 31 in May, Juventus should not buy an aging winger who would be ineligible for us in Europe, for a premium price in January. Need a strong vision for the future, the club needs to invest in top quality players that complement the guys we already have. Also, the way Paulo is playing, why would we want to consistently put him on the wing? He's adjusting very nicely to his new role, and he needs the freedom to roam to both sides of the pitch, support his teammates the way he has been.

Would love Banega added to our midfield, but highly, highly doubt he'd be coming in January. Too important to Sevilla, ineligible for us in Europe, and Marotta won't want to pay that January premium, either.

Beppe will be looking for "opportunities" on the market. After so many new additions this summer, who are finally getting into the groove, as well as expecting more than a few guys back from injury, I don't expect a whole lot in January. Maybe a Rugani, or Sturaro type of deal, where a youngster with promise is purchased in January and joins the club in July type of deal, but not much else.

Maaaaybe somebody else to play SS or TQ, but again, the calibre of player Juve should be looking for at that spot is exceedingly difficult to secure in January. I doubt it. I don't think we'll be seeing much of the 4-3-3 the second half. Think we'll basically shift between 3-5-2, and the 4-3-1-2, once Pereyra is match fit.

What premium price? Lavezzi's contract is expiring, PSG wants 4-5m for him, and we want to pay even less.

Someone will definitely arrive in January. The squad isn't complete - not for 43X, which should remain as an alternative to 352 - and there have been ongoing injury issues. It'll be an "opportunity" as you said, not a big-money WC buy (and doesn't need to be one) because that's unrealistic for Jan.

To think we cannot is a small club mentality. Bayern can attract the best in the world, and they play in a league that in my opinion is clearly inferior to Serie A. You do the math: a team like Real Madrid can afford to handout >11 of those salaries and have at least 1/2 of their starting 11 purchased through those types of transfer fees. We can afford one player like that. I'm not saying we need 11, nor 9, nor even 5...we could use 1, and there is no doubt in my mind that we can afford 1.

It's not a small-club mentality, it's realism. Bayern can attract the best and the most expensive in the world because they're the best in the world alongside Barca and Real. We've an alternate strategy to try and level the playing field.

We've to rely on our scouting and sign very talented young players before they turn WC and before Barca/Real/Bayern take notice. Like we did with Pogba and Dybala. And we can sign older, WC players via certain market opportunities like in the case of Tevez.

Even if we assume James Rodriguez is available and that we can afford his transfer fee and salary (lol in all three cases), why would he pick us over one of the top-3 European clubs with whom he has a much better chance of winning the CL? We can neither satisfy his salary demands nor his sporting ambitions. And giving one player a ~10m salary would mean you've to raise the salaries of Buffon, Pogba, and others as well.

We did spend on Dybala and Alex Sandro, and it was money well-spent.

If there's no doubt on your mind, then you aren't familiar with (or don't understand) our finances or our pull as a club. Things now are much better than before. We're far more attractive as a club than we were a few years ago, but it'll require more time to close the gap between us and the biggest clubs in Europe.

The management is doing everything right. The only thing that's been disappointing is the youth sector. I keep reading we're signing all these talented youngsters every year, but the results remain poor. The intentions are right, but Grosso and Pessotto haven't been doing a good job, and not being able to have a B team really hurts us.

So Lavezzi's agent, before the meetings with Inter and Juve, talked about a transfer in January. And now, after the meets, he's saying summer transfer is more probable.

Good chance that means he's joining us in the summer. We probably changed our mind about signing him in winter since we're now playing the 352, but Inter definitely want him. If he isn't joining Inter in January, that means he probably has an agreement with us for July.
