Wasn't it you and I who were all about getting Saponara early this summer? :D

Would love Saponara. Only 23 and I think he's going to be a star.

However, Soriano is so mediocre. DOn't want him or Vazquez anywhere near Juve.
yes, @adRHCP wanted him too

Saponara and Pereyra at AM would look good, Soriano would more be a option on the bench to rotate with the CMs and an emergency AM in case Saponara and Pereyra are unavailable. for some low fee, he could be an useful rotation player

What need though?

If we were to get Saponara, we'd have Saponara + Pereyra at CAM, and Pogba in a pinch. And midfielders, we'd have Pogba, Marchisio, Khedira, Sturaro, Lemina, Asamoah, Padoin (assuming we get rid of Hernanes)... Soriano would be another body we don't need. Especially considering Pereyra can also play in the midfield. That's 9 players for 3-4 positions.

Is this Saponara guy really good? What 's his potential? Any chance to get close to WC and perennial Italy starter?

What's his playing style like? Carrier of the ball, passer, shooter... direct playstyle more suited to countering than build up play? Is he creative, has good vision? Similar (playing style) perhaps to Kaka, Pastore?

or a rb
Versatile midfielder. Sort of like Pereyra. Montella said Soriano could play as CM, a winger, or a trequartista. He has been deployed as a trequartista in recent matches.

Is he world beater? Of course not. But he's 24 and could still improve. Anyone at this point is better than Hernanes. Hernanes has been a travesty.

Wouldn't mind Soriano as a January reinforcement, especially with all these injuries. For example, Pogba is suspended next match and our midfield is looking thin.

i think Padoin will leave. if he stays, i dont want to see him near the midfield, only on fullbacks/wingbacks. Hernanes i hope he leaves, he has to. too terrible to keep him. that leaves us with Marchisio, Pogba, Lemina, Sturaro, Pereyra, Saponara and Khedira, Asamoah who have been very injury prone and miss a lot of games per season (also, Asamoah even if fit could spend more time at LB/LWB, especially if Evra leaves, maybe he too even leaves if he cant stay fit). Soriano would come in January and probably serve as Pereyra backup until Saponara/new AM arrives, and then move back to CM. i dont want to see Hernanes ever play here again

He isn't good enough for Juve atm.

Unnecessary signing.
He's currently a better AM than anyone we have. So I'd say that makes him Juve material.

It's a pipe dream to think we're going to spend 40-60mil that would be required to get an established top AM. So we really should be signing a player like Saponara who looks like a rising star and is only 23. And we can hope he continues his development and turns into a top player here.

It's much better than buying washed up 28-32 year old AMs like Hernanes. Or 1 season wonders like Vazquez. Those are our other options.

I'd take him in a heartbeat just because of his ability to play that AM position far better than anyone we have.

I won't spend €20-€25m for another perhaps slightly better version of Pereyra.

I think you're overrating him.He doesn't have the 'it' material in him. He's not as good as some people believe.

It's likely we buy Berardi which in case there Isn't much of a requirement of the saponara's of this world.

Teixeira on the other hand though is another matter altogether.
