The reports say that Everton want €77m (£55m) for Lukaku, which if true means that no one has to worry about us making any kind of bid for him.
This is the Martial effect, things will only get crazier and crazier for any mid level good talent. You dont even need to be a galactico anymore to be overvalued to the extreme.

The problem today is that teams are buying players that never would have been sold in the past. There was always transfer activity, but the sheer number of top players shifting teams each year is ridiculous. I mean some of them would have been sold, yes. But rich teams now will just raise their offers higher and higher until it is accepted. Monaco didn't need to sell Martial, probably didn't want to, until ManU made them an offer that would be ridiculous to refuse. Same deal with ManCity for DeBruyne, Madrid for Bale and Rodriguez, Barca for Suarez, and so on. They're willing to pay basically whatever it takes to make their offer impossible to refuse. It makes the market absurd.

We're basically priced out of the EPL market.

Maybe other top leagues' market too especially if EPL clubs are happy to offer 2x what other clubs like us for example would be willing to offer.

If Morata leaves, be prepared for an underwhelming replacement.

Our money should've been used better this yr.Prices are going to shoot up like crazy next season.

77M? Aguero can be bough with that money. 50-60M? That's Cavani for you. 40M ? We could have had Sanchez ffs
Aguero is indispensable for City and even if he were to get sold , it would be at a minimum of €100m.

Our policy of squad formation came to a bust when we realized there are indispensable quality requirements for a successful club. Also one can't run a certain formation, unless you have at least one player in every department that is thriving in it.

We have a mix of those two. Players that are either substandard or they are trying to fit into a formation that doesn't suit them. Then there is the issue of a majority of players always going back to Conte's 352 as a source of mental strength. You can see this same team getting a goal from the first/only shot in games where we play a back 4...

We should go for Januzaj. If he keeps on warming the bench at Dortmund this season, he will probably get no (or at least, not much) chances at United next season either. We should try to pick him up next summer.

Januzaj has had a lot more first team football than Pogba ever did and he seems a bit mentally weak. Really don't think he's the sort of player for Juventus right now, we need more fighters.
Chelsea are Thugletico v.2 but that doesn't help them much...

Stability and clear ideas are what we need, but that isn't always the 'politically correct' thing to do. By that I mean the inner policy of the club.

Explanations to why Conte left are much clearer now.

I just don't think Januzaj is cut out for either Italian football or Juventus. There are lots of young players with ability, but it doesn't mean they have the right temperament.

I don't have an opinion on Januzaj as I haven't seen him enough. I bought him on FM sometimes, but that's that...

Besides isn't his best position the position currently Dybala and Cuadrado are best bet for? We need left wingers and preferably one with the ability of cutting in... Januzaj is left footed, right?... So no deal imho.

On the other hand at least he is a winger and attacking mid.

PP: On the topic of the thread: If it is true we are looking at Draxler, we must be insane not to sniff around Reus too. Expensive or not, the idea of going out of Europe next season must be filling the pants of a few execs...

I know it was just an example how crazy that sum of money for Lukaku is

Lukaku is a normal striker. Neither awesome nor bad. so 60m they can roll him in the EPL market.
Way too overpriced.
The future will be English fools overbuying normal players while the finest will always go to Spain Barca/Real side.
