While I agree, I also think we shouldn't be so arrogant as to think that we'd hold all of our favorite players for forever. Modern football is different than the old ways. Maybe we've been out of the top so long, we didn't get the memo. Unless you're insanely rich, holding onto your players forever isn't realistic. It isn't. Look across Europe and you see that holding and hording talent for forever just doesn't happen.
Also, I trust Marotta. He has said he won't sell unless the player wants to leave. We're not a selling club. So if Vidal is close to Bayern, then its of his own making. And if Vidal leaves for Bayern, its of his own making. Taking those funds and improving our squad and getting a top player is the expectation afterwards.
But, seriously, do you think Juve and Marotta went to Bayern and offered Vidal? Do you think he agreeing to terms with Bayern at 6.5m came out of nowhere? If he was loyal to Juve first and foremost, when Bayern came calling, how did he agree to terms? He'd say, "Nope, Juve for life" and move on.
But in the end, let's wait until something is final.
