Whatever... but dont play him as AM. His passing the the last game was atrocious to say the least, unbeliavebly bad.

He wasnt that bad in the runnning and tackling deprtment...and his presence was felt. Yes he lost his temper in parts of the game... but his really bad mark was the horrid passes which broke up so many plays.

he for sure is not a technical passer.
He was a very skilled passer for 3 years... this is a huge slump, but I still consider it a slump. Gotta back him up

Nope, you are overselling it, quite adequately good at it, adept at seeing good solutions, nice vision at times, but no wouldnt say passing was one of his strongest suits, certainly not very skilled at it.

Especially when the player himself says he likes playing there(@AM) ?

Its hilarious to see people blaming Allegri for Vidal's downfall this season rather than the player himself.
I'd blame the injury more than anything.

But yeah, his performance issues don't have that much to do with his new role as a lot of guys in here seem to think.

Was anybody else worried he was gonna get himself sent off? One tackle in particular he put in an unnecessary and dangerous slide tackle on (I think) Schmelzer. He played one of his best games of this season, hopefully he's on the up again.

He was SO good, hoping that patience and game time will see him return to that level.

:D

Besides being furious for no apparent reason I thought he was much better than he's been for most of this year. He's not 'Vidal' Vidal but hey it's something to build on.

I disagree. He always showed amazing technique in his passing and first touch. His left leg used to be very good also, this makes a huge difference.

Anyway, he gave us 3 spectacular years. It's only expected that we keep trusting and supporting him throoughout the season.

I think he's angry with his performances.

I love Arturo, and would extend his contract on the spot, he is struggling and I would give him all the time in the world.

I just disagree he has amazing technique, passing or first touch. Top class overall midfielder, but he doesnt have those characteristics you are giving him as a player, not when said with such ajdectives atleast.

Even during his monstrous performances his passing was his weakest link. You only need to go back in this thread to see what people thought of his passing. He had the occasional killer pass, more of an exception than the norm.

Vidal is the example of a player with decent technique and decent passing skills. The reason he plays for Juventus and not Sociedad is that he has exceptional workrate and times his runs to perfection.

Unfortunately that also means that he needs to be 100% fit.

I would give him the contract extension right about now, improve his deal and no one will buy him. This will show faith, fend off any potential buyer and his game will improve in no time! This will also be the time when he is most likely to accept the new deal, let's not wait for him to return to his best, then he won't accept

I'm normally pretty relaxed about Vidal when he is on a booking, he mostly knows how to tone down his game. I was more worried about him losing possession. His passing stats in the game were 65%.

Exactly, he minimizes his mistakes with the passes at his best, his flaw more then his strength.
Frankly I still have questions about his fitness. He just doesn't look the same player. You're definitely right about his passing though, it just never was a strength of his. In this he is quite similar to Marchisio, but he plays a slightly more advanced role and is far cooler in front of goal (which oddly enough is something Claudio definitely was too in the early days of his career).

@Ocelot I've just realised that I was unclear - when I said Arturo was SO good I meant he used to be, not against Dortmund. In the BVB game he was good but not SO good.
