First season, I think it was a very close race between him and Pirlo.
Not at all, Pirlo was king and Barzagli was second. The likes of Vidal and Marchisio were huddled up in that group below with a lot of very good performances, but not to the same dominance of the former two.

I love Pirlo and there is no doubt he had a fantastic season wih us last season. Thing is majority of the fans were not expecting him to have an impact like that and that adds to the credit we give him.
Nonsense, Pirlo was rated at such a high level because he was regularly churning out great performances and was pulling the strings in the strongest area of the team. And it was throughout the entire season as well, even playing through an injury he was picking up crucial assists. The same cannot be said for Vidal, he properly hit his stride after the winter break, after showing flashes of greatness prior to that.

Marchisio was monster last season but i still think barza and killini were better.

I put him along with Pepe because marchisio was beast when we used 433 and almost disappeared during the second half of last season when we switched to 352. Just like pepe was important for the 433 similarly 433 was vital for marchisio to work. This season however he has found a way to play in the 352 so credit to him.

This season Vidal and Barza are my top two again, Vidal no 1 by a huge margin.

Vidal outscored Pirlo, donno what the stats would look like if u counted both goals and assists as well but i think overal vidal would outsoxe him again.
Also vidal's hulk smash style was a HUGE reason pirlo was able to play his game.

Pirlo was great last year but he had Vidal as a protection. His running and tackling is top notch along with his time in runs. He's clever player and the one sacrifices the most for the team. For me last year Pirlo, Vidal, Barza, Marchisio. This year it's no brainer Vidal and Barza were the best. Pirlo was probably used too often this term and looked exhausted at times.

I don't really see how it's even debatable to compare Pirlo and Vidal last season, the former was putting in clutch performances weekly and took apart the entire league. Vidal did similar this season, which is why he is now the best.

As was Marchisio's game. That's what happens when you build a team around your most talented player.

Pirlo is the reason the 3-5-2 worked to begin with. He transformed Juve by finding his best form and he took Italy to the Euro final. How short are your memories people? the man was the world's best central midfielder 1 season ago and all the milanese were whining about letting him go.

next season with Llorente and Higuain/Jovetic I think Pirlo will have another amazing season ala 2011-12,

and his 2012-2013 season wasent as bad as some people make it out to be
It definitely wasn't a bad season at all, quite productive and effective, people just like to bitch for the sake of it. Just an amazing player to watch, absolute honour to have him play for us.

He was rather average the second half of this season. No where near the greatness he displayed last season. Probably got to do with the fact that he played almost every single game and wasn't physically able to pull that off.

That, and the fact that we played Giovinco as if he was our fucking target man up front.

There was a clear drop-off in form compared to last season, but he was still clutch on many occasions. Too bad he won't get a proper rest this summer due to the bloody Confederations Cup. He could have done with a break to re-charge the batteries.
