I can't believe I just went through 10 plus pages of this Marchisio vs Vidal crap.

And I believe it even less that the most sensible post came from Hustini of all people :D

Until Vidal starts outperforming Marchisio he deserves the bench. Pure and simple. Unless, like against Milan, Conte plays all 3 that's they way it should be.

Playing professional football means producing. This is exactly why every coach Juve has had has played Marchisio...consistently since 3 years now?

There is a reason he plays...there is a reason he starts...there is a reason why he had the top passing completion last year. Until a better player comes and SHOWS he can consistently produce more than Marchisio then we will continue to see him start. Sorry, but that's just the way it is. Its a business.

Like it or not, Marchisio offers assurances and a guaranteed hard effort and completion (consistently) of the basics, Conte is going to continue to choose him.

I for one am quite pleased that we have both of them. And I have no doubt that both of them will turn out to be useful.

Meh, I already fed up with Marchisio vs Vidal posts.
If there's one thing that people should learn from the Milan game is that Conte knows what he does and he will always wants to win so his choices should be respected. People were bombarding his 4-1-4-1 and it turns out to be one of the main reason Milan were shutted out in the last game.

But you hold him to a different standard than Vidal apparently. Vidal had a solid game on Milan, one which he'll build on and better. The criticism in here is not deserved at all and I wonder if we all watched the same game tbh.
Quite a few people already disagree with you about Vidal's 'solid game v Milan'.

works hard, good pressing, throws himself about...not what's required from the AMF, and in that regard he was quite poor.

Nothing is wrong with it red unless you are Hustini that happens to like Marchisio. But hey, being every during a game means you play well apparently. Being everywhere also cancels out countless bad passing and horrible shots on goal.
Marchisio had three much worse games misplacing passes and shots and you didn't comment once. That's the problem, you're the least objective poster on the forum and not to be taken seriously in matters of football.

His passing and shooting for the most part was bad but he still made 4 key passes and passed with an over 80% success rate. He made one extremely classy pass under pressure almost assisting Marchisio had he not fluffed it completely. He was also a huge reason why we were allowed to impose our game plan and dominated Milan's midfield. So there is nothing wrong with taking his poor passing and shooting into account but ignoring all the important things he did that allowed us to win the match is wrong. He definitely did not have a bad match it was a solid match. Not like Marchisio's 'solid' matches this season where he has given the ball away just as much and brought no physicality to midfield or made any important passes. If this is a bad game for Vidal, his best game must be out of this world good.

I think its obvious already who the better player is.

P.S Football is about producing, hence why Marchisio has been played for so long? :howler: Yeah he really produced in these Juve glory years. The only argument Marchisio lovers have is that he has been played but I'd like to see where he played as well as he has against Milan and Inter consistently. He can't tackle, he can't pass. All he does is run forward and score nice goals in a few games a season. That's not what a midfielder is good for. He may as well just be a CF.
