marchi can't unleash his potential as a CM if he is obliged to do holding midfielder's job as he is not physicaly so strong. when vidal's around, he do the dirty works n let marchi enjoy his rule as CM. the reason he can go forward n score a lot this season is because he is free to do his role without doing vidal's work.
I agree, Marchisio's best potential is as ACM in the Lampard mould. I notice also that Conte occasionally rotates the mids, even giving Pirlo some time at ACM (depending if another team is in attack mode).

I can see this annoying Vidal, who also likes to be a roaming CM, but like i said, what other elite club would give Vidal that freedom? Even his national coach plays him in defense.

Leverkusen played him there. He's pretty good there imo and you can see it by his passing and long shots.

Bayer is not an elite club, with all due respect.

Honestly, the only club I could see giving that freedom to Vidal would be Milan, like they do with Boateng that is not really gifted for an offensive mid role.

Isla has played as an AM mostly this year and he has done very well over there. Basta has taken his place as RWB and Isla had adapted quite well to his new role. Great player.

I don't think he's the kind of player we need for our right side though, and Udinese will probably ask for 20+ M euros.

Vidal already suggested isla to us in the summer, but we opted for lichtsteiner instead.
So, they are like good friends Vidal and Isla? thats not what i read here.

Udinese and Chile star Mauricio Isla has broken his silence on the polemic disciplinary issue which saw Juventus' Arturo Vidal and four other players sent home, and blasted his errant teammates for the lack of respect they showed in the incident and its aftermath.

Chilean soccer was shaken when, just days before a World Cup qualifier away to Uruguay, Vidal, Jorge Valdivia, Gonzalo Jara, Carlos Carmona and Jean Beausejour were all expelled from Claudio Borghi's squad. The reason given by the coach was that they had arrived to the team base late and in an "inadequate state" – a claim angrily refuted by those involved.

The rest of the Roja squad had kept a guarded silence over the conduct of their companions, until Isla affirmed on Monday that he was furious with the five players.

"They were disrespectful to all of us and all of the Chilean people. We cannot keep forgiving them because if we do that, mistakes will keep being made," the midfielder fired in an interview with TVN.

Isla continued to state his support for disciplinary procedures to be handed down from the ANFP, revealing that the individuals had broken an internal code of conduct in the dressing room.

"They are very important players, but in our team there are rules that must be obeyed. Whatever happened has happened, we took the final decision together. It was very painful for us, but we have a way of behaving ourselves and they did not respect that," he added

From Marcello from one of our early correspondants

"Alexis Sanchez is very great friend with Arturo but I dont know in person Sanchez. Alexis Sanchez was big Barcelona fan since kid and he wants only Barca. Alexis talked to Arturo and Alexis told Vidal to go to Juve. Alexis will be very important if Arturo goes to Juve. He convinced Arturo.

Alexis best attacker in Chile, Arturo best midfield, Isla best defense. Arturo will tell Isla to go to Juve but Juve buy right back from Lazio.
