Vidal is not a club legend by any stretch. He was an important piece of a revival for 4 years, but that's it...

He's not Del Piero, a Gigi, a Chiellini, a Trezeguet, a Nedved, a Marchisio, a Conte, a Cabrini, a Boniperti, a Sivori, a Charles, a Scirea, a Zoff, a Rossi, a Ferrara, a Baggio, a Platini, Gentile, a Combi, an Orsi, a Tardelli, a Bettega.... even a Pirlo, or a Zidane.

We have an epic list of club legends. Why the heck would anyone want Vidal associated with such legendary names? He doesn't belong at all one this list. As far as players responsible for our revival, let's talk about the players who stuck with us through hell, and became massive parts of the revival. Chiellini, Marchisio, Gigi. Those are legends, not Vidal.

Your argument absolutely falls apart if you use Milan as any metric at all. Because Milan is inarguably superior to Bayern Munich if you regard CL as the only real important part in classifying club histories. They have 2 more CL, and 7 less league titles. So how is Milan superior to Bayern, inferior to Juve, but Juve is inferior to Bayern?

Ridiculous premise. There is only 1 club in football that has a history inarguably better than Juventus. Real Madrid. And they were basically gifted everything for years by the Franco regime.

Absolute joke that any Juventus fan would even suggest Bayern "might" have a better history than us. You so overrate the CL beyond all rational reason. It's ridiculous. Especially seeing as Bayern won 3 of their CL back in the mid-70s, when CL wasn't important at all to most clubs. It was secondary to the league. Obviously. CL only took on it's massive importance in the 90s when it expanded. Add to this that for much of history 2nd-4th place teams in the league wouldn't even qualify for CL, so the "lesser" cup competitions in Europe were contested by top teams also means those competitions were very important, considering non-league winners win CL all the time nowadays. Guess what, Hist, Barca wouldn't have even been in the CL last year back in the 70s and 80s because Atletico won the league the previous season. Neither would the unstoppable Bayern Munich of 2012-13... Guess what, Dortmund won the league in 11-12, so Bayern would have played in the Europa back then. So yes, the secondary European competitions from the 70s, 80s and early 90s matter a ton. Only a fool would say otherwise. Two of the most dominant teams in recent memory wouldn't have even qualified to play in CL, which means there were fucking amazing teams playing the secondary cups when we won our 3 Europas/UEFA Cups. Don't be so ridiculous.

An objective measure according to your own standards of why Serie A is massively better historically than Bundesliga... 12 CL to 7 CL. Most of ours won since 1980. Bundesliga has won 3 CL since 1975. Serie A has 3 giants of football slugging it out. Bundesliga has been a 1 team show for most its history, there isn't a second historically great club from Bundesliga. It's a joke of a league for most its history, unlike Serie A.

FFS, calling Bayern's history better than ours is embarrassing for a Juventus fan.
This is an excellent post. Said virtually exactly what I wanted to say, and more

Same deal. I remember the UEFA cups of the early-mid 90s from my childhood when some of the best teams in football were stuck in them.

It's a really modern mindset that values the Champion's League exclusively. A mindset that totally disregards the history of European football and the importance of other cups, and domestic league titles. We won Serie A titles over Champion's League winning teams, which says it all about value of the league title.
I think the final in 1993 vs Dortmund was when I was sold and became a Juve fan. Such a fantastic performance with Baggio scoring a couple of goals.
Anyway for a Juve fan to suggest that Bayern are historically the better team is ridiculoss. Unless your perception of histore starts 10 years ago.

It was called the European Champion Clubs' Cup, or for short European Cup before 92 dolph.

Uefa cup and cup winners cup were both fairly contested Euro competitions until mid late 90s really when they lost their values more.
Thanks man. For some reason I only could remember the Danish name for it.

Hello to all Juve fans in here. I have followed this forum some time, and decided to create a user now. Well first of all i really look forward to the games against you, it will be exciting. Its 50/50 matches even with an advantage to Juve because of our injuries in the defence.

I also have a question, because i dont get the Bayern hate some users have in here? Yes i fully understand that there allways will be clubs that you like more than others, and some you despise. But why Bayern? The club have a giant history like you. I dont have anything against Juventus, not at all. If it ends out with an early exit to Bayern, then i hope you guys will have a good run in the CHL, you deffinatly have my sympathy.

And i noticed that you debated a lot about which club that got the bigger history. Well... To be honest i think the clubs are equal. But to say that Juve deffinatly have a bigger history than Bayern is nonsense and biased. :sergio: The clubs are pretty much equal. Again this is not to be provocative or a troll, because like i said i have a lot of respect for Juventus as a club.

What we can agree on big time is the despise for those overrated shitty Premier League clubs. I cant stand many of them, and theyre fans neither. So its allways big fun, when i read youre post about them - the Bayern hate not so much though.

The thing Vidal said wasnt smart at all. I remember some of the same happended when Toni Kroos left Bayern for Real Madrid, so i understand youre rage towards him. Its never cool when a former player says something like that.

Finally i just wanna wish you guys some nice games. I hope they will be fair played, and with brilliant football. Two giants in club football meet again, so my expectations are high.

Bayer hate is mostly because of Guardiola, once he's gone you'll have sympathy of plenty of Juventini again. Very few people here really hate Bayern. EPL clubs though.

Well you are bavarian, you don't count. :D

And I really dislike them, because of Rummenige and Hoeness.

We never said anything bad about them, they on the other hand kept talking shit back in the days when we were linked with Sagnol and then again when Vidal came to us from Leverkusen. Bitter old men.

Where is the hate?

And who is saying that Juve has a bigger history than Bayern?

Welcome, BTW.
Well i have read some few users said they despise Bayern. If it more was in fun or troll comments i can´t say, then its my bad if i couldnt red the irony/sarcasm in it. Some guys claimed that Juve deffinatly got a bigger history than Bayern which i disagree about - like i mentioned above its equal in my opinion.

Its a great forum you guys have here btw.

Yes Hoeness and Rummenige can be some fools sometimes. I will admit that even as a Bayern fan. All though its more in the past, than today.

Welcome to the forum. I dont think there is much hate in general towards Bayern in hear. I think that both our management and a lot of fans, has talked about following the Bayern model regarding our business model and I think that in general their is a lot of respect for Bayern. The hate on this forum is towards Real and Barca, the EPL teams and there deluded fans and other top teams in seria A.

Its nice of you to rate us as favorits in the upcoming ties, but I think that most people in here recognise that Bayern in this point in time is superior to Juve.

Bayern is a team i have the utmost respect for, and always wish to do well.

Untill they decided to let Guardiola, also known as The greatest cancer in the world, ruin the best team of the past decade that Heynckens had composed.

So i'm waiting for Guardiola to be removed for bayern, so i can watch their games and hope the best for them again.

I deffinatly see Juve as favorites in the first game. Its in Turin, and with youre form and our injuried back four, then i think you win this one - thats just my feelings before the match.

As for Real Madrid and Barca, i also dont like them. To many glory hunting fans supporting both clubs, and especially Barca. Can´t stand theyre Messi fanboys neither. In terms of history Barca only become really big the last 10 years. Before that, they were only a little shit club compared to Juve and Bayern historic.

I'll remind everyone that since we went back into europe with Conte, we are accustomed to getting disgusting fans of the opponent on this forum.

Bayern 12/13 beeing the exception. All the bayern fans who joined and had conversations, were respectfull.

Yeah, i also like many other Bayern fans never been the biggest fan of him. I mean.. You have one of the best right back since ever in Philipp Lahm, and then you place him in midfield because its a funny idea he gets? Its a disgrace. There is many things about Pep i dont like. I admit he had some matches with us, where we played really well. All though i think he´s been a disaster in the big ChL games. He´s stubbornness and tactics have ruined many things for us there - i fear the same will happen against Juve.

For that matter i also look forward to get a coach more like Jupp Heynckes in Ancelotti. Carlo seems like a very likeable person, and i wanted him to Bayern for quite a long time. Not only likeable, but he´s trophies collected as a coach also speech for itself. He´s not been good domestic, but in the ChL he done a fantastic job.

I think that Carlos style of football will make Bayern better in the ChL. Not in the Bundesliga, but internationally.

I agree with hist and this bayern fan. Not much separating us as to whose bigger and better. We're more or less the same to be honest. The only sad side from our part is that we need to be even bigger financially, but unfortunately that's just down to how our league has declined or been managed over the years.

I personally respect bayern. Guardiola doesn't represent bayern. Fuck him. As for vidal, his loss hope he regrets it. Serie A gets a lot of negative reputation and Juve as a whole outside Italy so fans out there don't respect us, as they should be.

Anyway not bothered, all eyes in Tuesday, it's our chance to gain more respect. Respect we deserve.

Vidal: 'No Juve celebration'
By Football Italia staff

Arturo Vidal pledged not to celebrate if he scores for Bayern Munich against his old club Juventus. “I’m an opponent, not an enemy.”

The first leg in the Champions League Round of 16 kicks off on Tuesday at 19.45 GMT.

“I return to Turin as an opponent, not an enemy,” he assured in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I don’t know how I will be welcomed, but I hope the fans don’t jeer. I am excited about this game and it’ll be strange to see myself there with another jersey.

“If I score, then I won’t celebrate. In four years I learned and won a great deal. I left because it was an opportunity for me and a good move for Juve, so we were all happy.”

Vidal has been keeping a close eye on his former teammates from Germany.

“I had no doubts the Bianconeri would come back into the Scudetto race. Even when they were in 12th position I knew they’d get back to the top, because the squad is so strong and never gives up.

“I watch Juve on TV. In Munich I spend my whole time at home or playing football.”

Juventus reached the Champions League Final last season, but are Bayern Munich the favourites?

“I think we each have a 50-50 chance of qualification,” argued the Chile international.

“If I could take one of Juve’s players, it’d be Paul Pogba, as if he works hard then he can become among the best in the world.

“I’d also take Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci. Paulo Dybala’s success is not really a surprise.”

Bayern were trailing at half-time against Darmstadt yesterday, but fought back to win 3-1 amid an injury crisis in defence.

“Struggling on a few crosses can happen, but even if we’re a fairly short team, we really fight to get the ball. Will I play in defence? No.”

There is also some tension off the field with Pep Guardiola announcing he’ll leave at the end of the season to take over at Manchester City.

“It was strange and we only learned about it by watching TV. Pep reminds me of Antonio Conte in the way he speaks and looks after the details.

“In any case, after him we’ll have a fine Coach like Carlo Ancelotti. For now we want to win everything so Pep can leave happy.

“Who is the stronger team between Bayern and Juve? We’ll see on Tuesday. I haven’t given my teammates any special advice, as they know how strong Juve are even without Vidal.”

yea ok :howler:
