Stop devaluating the word legend by putting Vidal, Pirlo and Zidane in that category.

It's like you want to force something
they are legends. Zizou was one of the main protagonists for what was probably the best run of football in our modern history while the other 2 were our best 2 players at the club at our greatest resurgence. All 3 gave everything they had for the club for a good number of years and what they gave was an awful lot. I do not expect players to never move on with their careers when they have a better opportunity the same way I do not expect the club to keep players that we no longer need because we found better players to take their place.
For me its a mix of, how many years they spent, how good were they individually during those years, how good was the club during those years as a result of their contributions and how they reflect on those years after they leave. All three were absolutely key players, gave their all every season at a very important time of Juve's history and they all see their time at Juve as a great experience. There is no objective measure for the requirements of legendary status and so these are mine.

we lost the CL final with him, and he pussied out afterwards.

the way/reason a player leaves has to be taken into consideration before labeling him as legend.

“I chose Juve in 2011 for myself and for my family, now I’m ready, and I have the experience it takes to play at a club like Bayern.
legend my ass.

also i am tired of the "he gave his all" comments. it is true, he did. but it is his job after all. he is getting paid millions for playing football, so excuse me if i expect him to sweat on the pitch.
this should be the rule rather than the exception.

He moved to a better club with a higher shot of winning the CL. Pogba would say the exact same thing after being nurtured here. Mascherano and Alonso say the same thing about Liverpool. A player starts off somewhere, proves himself for a few years and then moves somewhere better for his career. Thats not pussying out, thats simple career progress be it in football or outside of it. He didn't have to make leverkusen win the Bundesliga either and I doubt anyone considers that as pussying out. Key players can leave without being too old or forced out and still be considered legends. Is zlatan an inter legend? absolutely. He gave them 4 brilliant years of football carrying the team on his shoulders and then left for a superior team. He will rightly be considered a legend at inter and at PSG

Cringeworthy statement that. Bayern isn't a better club. Not in the slightest.

The whole football world will remember Pirlo long after he retires. Iconic player and yes his class on and OFF the pitch is worthy of legendary stays at Juve. Not b/s tattoos and cheap words like the fat, Chilean drunkard.

Substantially bigger finances, offers better money for the player, easily our equal if not better in terms of history, substantially bigger and better squad and are currently much better positioned to win trophies. At the very least, most players (including Vidal obviously) and football fans perceive Bayern as the better team. Hence they are favorites and we are under-dogs.

Are we really gonna remember Vidal as a legend in 20 years time?
Yeah we will remember him as an unstoppable midfield machine that could do everything on the pitch and helped lift this team out of the gutter it used to be in.

This.

I'd give Pirlo legend status for Juve long before Vidal.
I agree. He was the most important player in our resurgence. And he is even more a once in a life time kind of player than Vidal. There might be other Vidal like players, but there wont be a midfielder like Pirlo again let alone one that can transform our team to the extent that we became a juggernaut without any good strikers. .

Sure, their history could be considered our equal, but certainly not superior in terms of history. We've won 8 more league titles in a historically superior league (33 titles to 25, plus Serie A has been UEFA top league in coefficients for 13 years compared to Bundesliga for 7 years)... They've won 3 more CL titles (5 to 2). But we've won more UEFA competitions total... 11 to 10.

So... looking at it, I'd actually say Juventus history over Bayern history by a slight amount. And that's with calciopoli nearly destroying the club and tearing apart a team that was a top 2/3 club in football in 05/06. I'd say it's incredibly likely we'd have a 3rd CL if not for calciopoli... But regardless, we trump that with 8 more league titles, and more UEFA competition wins total. Not to mention cup competitions have an element of luck to them, being a one-off competition type of thing, and Juve have featured in 8 CL finals, Bayern 10, which shows similar CL success. If you look at top club in the world according to UEFA coefficient rankings which shows how consistently a club has been at the very top of the football world, Juve has finished 7 years as Number 1 in the world. Bayern Munich has finished 2 years as number 1 in the world.

Any Juve fan who would claim Bayern's history is superior to Juve is just being ridiculous in the name of objectivity and stepping way over the line in the other direction. It's pretty damn obvious that their is absolutely no argument for that.

I value CL wins over Serie A wins tbh and I dont really value other European cups. Regardless of history, which is even by your account we barely have an advantage, they are now the bigger club, with more finances, better players and have been regularly featuring in finals and semis for a long time. For a football player today, Bayern clearly have the upper hand or at the very least that is the perception of Vidal and he is not alone in that in any sense.

Yes, and if Vidal wants to go there, fine.

But a Juve legend is someone who sticks with the club even if he may have better chances of winning somewhere else.
