Well, I couldn't answer your question because it was predicated on a small question and therefore a flawed question.

If you honestly think, this entire coming campaign, Pereyra is only going to be a sub for the final 15 minutes of games, you are not thinking realistically.

Your question is flawed because Pereyra won't be used exclusively as sub for the final 15 minutes of games. He will almost assuredly get 15-20 starts spread out across the various competitions we have to compete in. He will also be the first AM off the bench for us, the second CM of the bench for us, the first midfield option off the bench when we want to be more attacking. He will get more time this coming season than he did last season. Also, he will benefit from having a full year with us, being knowledgeable of the system, and continuing to learn from our core players.

So, do I think Pereyra will retain the same form by randomly starting 15-20 matches for us meanwhile getting 15-25 minutes minimum as a sub for another 15-20 matches?

Yes, I do.
Okay I respect your answer. The thing is that ,first, he wont be starter on every match and get 15-25 minutes like you say or that he will start 15-20 matches. That's why I think that he won't inherit his form from last year.I must admit that I don't rate him high when he came(now some members will start their usual expert knee jerking) but lately he proves me that I was wrong.I don't think that he will get that much playing minutes or matches especially if we sign AM,so he can only came behind strikers because we have Asa and Sturaro in midfield.Maybe when we need to attack he will be needed in midfield but his main role is attack .By the way Sturaro join us in January .

Vidals car doesnt start with keys, they use a button to start the engine
In Ferrari they don't wanna risk with him "having" a a history of drinking so they decide this car to be with a key and not with a button for start.

Well, no matter who we sign at AM, they will need a rest. At least before CL appearances occasionally. That's 3-4 starts. Add another 6-7 for Coppa. Add another 5-6 for spot starts, resting of the AM, etc. That right there is 14-17 starts. Then, if we need an attacking threat at midfield, he will probably be the first midfielder brought on. Not Sturaro or Asamoah. I'd see Khedira coming off from the CMD spot and us putting Pereyra on to be more aggressive. Who knows. He will also be used to sub the AM.

I don't think anybody rated him highly. Some thought he was promising, other thought it was a mistake. The point is, at the end of the campaign, his price was a bargain. Even if we sign him now for 14m and sell him next year (which I think we won't but let's talk hypothetically). I wouldn't be surprised if he sold for 22m+. Make it a PL club and we could raise that price higher. That's starting. Not a bad piece of business. And that's what we're in. A business. We don't have the TV funds of the massive clubs so we need to buy smart and sell smarter. And Pereyra is a smart buy. Even for a bench option at 14m.

As far as Asamoah is concerned, the reason I think in midfield Pereyra will be an option over him is that we have no second option at LB at the moment. We don't. Until we do, Asamoah will get time at LB and (hopefully) midfield. Just for form and fitness reasons, Pereyra will get time over Asamoah at midfield to not burn Asamoah out for our LB options. Evra isn't getting any younger. Sturaro is a project midfielder, a promising youngster but not a first or second option off the bench. Therefore, Pereyra is probably our first real option off the bench to cover the AM and a midfielder. Sturaro would be the first option for any of our box-to-box guys or deep midfielders. So Khedira, Pogba or even Marchisio. And he'll get Coppa starts and the occasional Serie A starts to cover them before big matches, CL, etc.

Vidal for 40mil could be Marotta's best sale business ever!
It is the right moment to sell, Vidal gave his all with us, but he obviously has closed his corcle and would benefit a new challenge. He was one of the main contributors for our 3 consecutive titles amd now we can win without him.
As other forumers have pointed out, we could better keep Pogba instead, as he is young enough, his price could grow and we will have plenty of opportunities to sell, yet we wont be able to collect more from Vidal in the future, a champion, a CL finalist and a copa America winner, it is very best moment to sell him!
This year we are on spending galore, next year we wont and it will be harder to replace him.

Next season will show how many matches Pereyra will play and start.
