@Red what do you make of this? Who would you target now?
Not sure quite what to make of it all yet. I'd need to know details such as whether it was Juve or Vidal who really instigated this transfer.

My first thought would have been to hold on to Vidal at (almost) any cost because of the assumption that Pogba won't hang around long term. That would change if Vidal's prospects of remianing in good physical condition were not thought to be good.

But clubs go though cycles and many teams make the mistake of not renewing at the right time and failing to cash in on players when their value was highest - just look at how Inter fucked up after their tripletta by not selling guys like Milito and Maicon when they should have. Vidal is obviously younger than those guys, but there is the question over his physical condition.

Without knowing more about what is going on and what Juve will do with the cash, it's hard to say whether this is the right thing to do.

I can certainly fully understand why - aside from any emotional attachment to Vidal - people are deeply uncomfortable with the prospect of losing another key play after Tevez left.

Moving from Vidal to Khedera changes the sort of trequartista I'd be open to. With Vidal I would have been reluctant to sign someone who wouldn't do a lot of work in addition to being creative (Ocar, for instance) because I wouldn't have wanted to hold Vidal to a more defensive role. I have no issue with holding Khedira back, so I'd have less of an issue with signing someone who'll just be productive in the final third and not do much else (Mata, for instance).

 It should be an interesting next few days, I just hope we aren't going to rely on someone like Draxler or Cuadrado. Needs to be someone like Gotze or at the very least Oscar.

This is just 6 months ago and basically sums up his season. People here are deluded, if they think we could get a penny more for a 28 year old player with a season like this.

Edit: Not to forget that he's a Serie A player.

He hasn't been the same since that first injury and I'm starting to doubt he will ever get back to his old form.
Shadow of a player from previous years.
The quality of his haircuts has been directly proportional to his quality on the field.

Does Manure still require a midfielder?
Exchange with qpr for isla half, please.
He went from one of the best midfielders I've ever seen to a pretty ordinary one...

But let's give him the season to turn it around.

He definitely looks less explosive and focused though.
he single handedly almost fucked juventus over.

first with his penatly kick. then today with almsot getting red carded.

the big problem is that he is getting worse, not better. and some people here thought perreyra was not needed
The guy gave us 3 unbelievable years. He definitely deserves our patience. Give him the season.

I don't even think United would be that interested in him right now. Gotta recover the guy because I feel he's going to stay with us for a long long time now. He'll be 28 at the beginning of next year.
Same ol' shit passes.
Sell

But nah, his passing has been woeful since he's returned, and his touch has been inconsistent. Need the old Vidal back ASAP, we'd be doing some ridiculously sexy shit with him.
This guy blows. Killing our play.
I'm not even hating but he's got to hit the bench and get some minutes here and there until he's somewhat fit to play a decent level of Football.

I don't know what's the situation with Romulo and injuries but he should be first choice on this team.
And fuck people still giving him the benefit of the doubt.
he almost messed gave the game away vs atheltico and got sent off, then he gets lucky again because he should have been sent off today too

it's like he's intentionallly tryin to ruin juventus.
No excuses, horrible performance, bench him if we have someone to bench him for.
Seriously how has a knee injury destroyed his ability to do ANYTHING, you expect a drop off in form for a while but jesus he can't even turn, control a ball or pass it anymore.
His decision making is awful, such a stupid player. He became more anoying to watch then Padoin

In short term that won't help us significantly.

I understand the project. In theory, getting lots of the best young players in the world (Morata, Pogba, Dybala, Berardi, a young AM like Isco/Oscar/Goetze, etc) is a formula for future success. Yeah, you sacrifice a year, two or three until these players hit the mid 20's and (hopefully) develop into world's best players, but later you have a team that can rule Europe for half a decade.
But in our case I'm pessimistic. We're not yet a club that is financially powerful enough to keep these players once they turn into superstars. That's why I question the project and that's why I'm skeptical that this complete transformation will eventually result with something even better than the current team.
but we had the team now, what are we looking years down the line when we had the best mid field in the world and had just reclaimed our spot among Europe's elite clubs?

A very bad deal, no matter how you look at it!

if we wanted to sell or if he wanted to leave, we should've asked for 50 mil in the first place, but 36+4 mlns?

Goetze doesn't really convince me.

As talented as he is, he's yet to make the jump from talented kid to someone I'd be willing to bet on as a leader to consistently make a difference.

Maybe he just needs to get away from Bayern to make that transition, but I'm think I might find his fee a big too big to take that gamble.

you are a hypocrite.. you can have the quotes at his final matches with juve specially against real madrid. he was man of the match in several matches after this dip in form..
