He played the majority of this season as the LM...
...
No he did not, Hustini. Other than against Inter when he was sacrificed to completely blunt Maicon, he almost always bunched up in the middle to make a midfield trio. Its not an opinion, its where he played. I saw it with my own eyes...
Just what were you watching, then?...
I can't say that he was being played out of position, per se, as Lo-Pan had mentioned. He tended to drift towards the center of the pitch more often than not.
Wk 34: juve v catania (2-2)
Wk 33: viola v juve (0-0)
Wk 32: juve v genoa(3-2)
Wk 31: roma v juve (0-2)
Wk 26: lecce v juve (2-0)
Wk 25: juve v inter (1-0)
Wk 24: Cagliari v juve (1-3)
Wk 23: Palermo v Juve (2-1)
Wk 22: Juve v Udinese (1-2)
Wk 21: Samp v Juve (0-0)
Wk 18: Juve v Parma (1-4)…This is when Melo was sent off with 3 game suspension…next 2 games Marchisio plays CM, SIssoko 1 game.
Wk 16: Juve v Lazio (2-1)
Wk 14: Juve v Viola (1-1)
Wk 13: genoa v juve (0-2)
Wk 12: juve v roma (1-1)
Wk 11: Brescia v juve (1-1)
Wk 10: Juve v Cesena (3-1)
Wk9: Milan v Juve (1-2)
Wk8: Bologna v juve (0-0)
Wk 7: Juve v Lecce (4-0)
Wk 6: Inter v Juve (0-0)

21 games Claudio Marchisio played as a LEFT MID. Don't tell me you saw him drift to the middle and can't call him a LM as a result because you could say the same about Krasic on the right drifting to the middle in attack and by default that means he never played RM? Please. In a 442 that DN used 99% of this season when Marchisio was on the left he was a Left Mid...no way you can twist that.

32 games played - 21 at left mid = 11 games he played as a CM, yes a REAL CM...not a LM that "drifted" to the middle therefore "not being able to be classified as a LM"

Maybe we should have played Melo at LM then, since he is the better player then we wouldn't have had a LM "go missing".

Vidal for Melo, no. Vidal for Marchisio, yes. Its obvious which midfield would be a massive upgrade. Its a shame we're so focused on replacing Melo rather than focusing on the quality of our midfield.

After watching him selling off Diego though and now get ready to buy Honda for the same sum, doesnt make me to feel confident to his abilities though...
Just ask Wolfsburg how pleased they are with the Diego deal after this season.
He has shown even less at Wolfsburg then he has at Juventus.
After the last season, getting 15MEuro for him, seems to be a great deal, Secco just overpaid him.

Vidal: It’s up to Bayer…

Serie A target Arturo Vidal insists that German club Bayer Leverkusen will decide his future.

The Chilean is interesting a number of top sides given that he has just 12 months remaining on his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.

Bayern Munich are considered as front runners for his signature, but Napoli and Juventus are interested too.

“My agent has told me that he’s spoken to a number of clubs, but it all depends on Bayer Leverkusen,” the South American told the Corriere dello Sport.

“I have a year left on my contract and, as they were the first team to believe in me, I have total respect for them.

“Napoli? They are a great club. They battled for the title last season and they’ll be in the Champions League too.

“Juventus are also a great club, despite the fact that they won’t be playing in European competition next term.”

Vidal, a 24-year-old midfielder, joined his present team in the summer of 2007 from Colo Colo.

That's good news.
If he's letting Levercusen to decide where to sell him and if he won't push for a transfer to team X (which would have been Bayern), we do have a chance. We just need to make a better offer than Napoli and an offer that won't be too lower than Bayern's offer.
If we offer, say 14m and Bayern 16m, Levercusen would prefer us most probably.

Then again, it might be complete opposite and being in the same league might be an advantage for Bayern, not a handicap.
