He looked good today, the opponent almost didn’t even matter. He was actually looking to make passes forward instead of backwards and sideways. His positioning didnt suggest he’ll be playing regista though. He was positioned more the way he was at Barca.

On the left in a three man midfield?

Thinking allegri has locatelli bentancur and arthur as his preferred starting 3.

Shame rabiot never lives up to his capabilities...could have had loca rabiot and arthur as the three mids..all at their best and in form could have had a really good midfield.

But what does “Arthur at his best” even look like?
98% passing accuracy, 95% those are short passes at the middle of the pitch, 5-6 good forward passes, zero assists, occasional key passes, 1-2 tackles and interceptions here and there, can't be tackled or pressed into errors, fouled often, but tired after 60-70 minutes tops :snoop:

an arthur like that would improve our possession quite a bit, and we could put much more pressure on our opponents if we wouldn't have to defend that much. honestly, i'd be fine with that. the fitness part is disappointing, but he never was a 90 min player since he moved to europe, so i gave up the hope of arthur playing 90 minutes regularly. with 5 subs, it's all right. the other disappointing part is the costs, for 22m per season he's still way, way too expensive, but that's something we can't really do anything about it unless he signs an extension.

his best at Barca indicates he's more than just a guy thats able to keep the ball during a press
La liga has more space available for midfielders and forwards while serie a is extremely compact man to man marking so arthur has less time available on the ball he needs to make more quick forward passes rather than holding on the ball for too long

Its extremely pleasing to see people wishing for this guy to flop and never get a chance to show more of his qualities. Some in an attempt to prove that Pjanic is not shit, others to prove themselves right, by having judged a player after a single season under Pirlo. Dude hasnt played due to injury, but by the tone of people in here, he become a worse and worse football player for every day that passes :D
