i assume these surfers are bilingual then? :D

well, i myself settle for nothing short of mavericks
Bilingual? As in speaking both with your mouth and with your gastro-intestinal distress syndrome? Perhaps. Though most people use that Taco Bell for the pay phone and bathrooms only.

Mavericks? Man. That would be my way to die. Dropped from a helicopter a mile offshore before a 20-meter-high wave grinds me up into Chuck Wagon.

Hyaaa!!

eh, sounds alright, but doesn't compare to jumping in the woodchipper and making your self into a jamba juice product

I know some people who do Ocean Beach pretty regularly, which you can hit with the N Judah line. But that's a really crude spot. About as fun and as pretty as surfing the wake of a North Sea oil tanker.

If you head a little further down in Pacifica to Linda Mar Beach, things get better. The regular surfers there have memorized the pay phone at the Taco Bell there, so they can call in the morning and get conditions. ;)
i did pacific waves only once.. it felt weird to ride without my "combin' "

So that's the secret behind Jamba Juice.

I can see Charlton Heston now: "Jamba Juice is .... PEOPLE!!!!"

I always liked the company they ripped off for their franchise idea better: their SLO (San Luis Obispo) hometown competitors, Blazing Blenders.

Now that is a company with a name that sounds like jumping into the woodchipper.

yes seven-dolla-juice is quiet delectable... especially with a peyote boost

Too bad you did, I remember it well.

Back to the main topic of the thread, why is it that we have huge discrepancies in number of posts we see here, and number of posts we see there (for example, Erik @ 24k+ posts here, and 18k+ posts there)?

What happened to the missing 6k odd posts?

Two accounting systems. The 24k is probably the more accurate one.

There's a good tale in Juventuz history with Martin where the site experienced a major meltdown/crash that wiped out the post counts of a number of people. If you page through the members-by-date list, e.g.:

    http://www.juventuz.com/forum/membe...=0&postsupper=0&direction=DESC&pagenumber=103

you'll notice that tons of users "miraculously" all signed up on the date of July 12, 2002 -- Des, Pado, DJ Juve, Denco, Torkel, dpforever -- and the few days afterwards. I believe that accounts for some data repairs.

Martin can confirm, but I believe he was able to carry over some post counts before the big crash of 2002 that show up in the "members" listings. However, they don't seem to have the "corrections" in this posters list that Burke points out.

I think there's an asteroid that could cause us some trouble in 2039. So be sure to save your post counts until then. :D
