2 year and a sabbatical one
That's fine.
It's enough to lay foundations on which new successful period could be built.
Look at merda, they still use his playstyle little bit updated by inzagi. We sow it happen with inzagi at merda and allegri in first stint at Juventus. Throaters were crying when this was explained before, that allegri is fraud who was successful only because of Conte, but patern is here and everyone could see it now.

I disagree. Did Spurs built on the foundations he put? Did Chelsea? Those two successful examples (Juve and Inter) had a director who knew what he was doing. Not that I don't want his appointment, because it at least gives you a shot of being a team. But with this current management I won't put money on success post Conte.

I agree with you it's not a given scenario but it is great first step to possible successful period. If you see my previous post I said "could be built"

I'd agree, the majority of the build comes from the Director. He is the one responsible for long term planning of the team.

Conte will always be focussed on immediate success. Transfers like requesting Lukaku show that. He is a useful player for a season or 2 but he is at the latter part of his career, his value will be going down and he will need replaced in a couple of seasons.

But what Conte does bring is a change in mentality. He creates an environment which is competitive, players who don't work will not be tolerated and usually a winning mentality. For long term success, Conte and a good Director is an excellent combination. But that change in mentality can't be understated and something this club badly needs.

The potential problem you have is if Conte wants short term targets and the Director looks to build for longer.

I hate that most people have no idea of nuance. Two things can be true at the same time- yes Conte set up Allegri up for success, but Allegri himself did a fantastic job- especially in his first three years.
it’s not an either/or thing.

I massively respect both Conte (despite disliking him post-Juve) and Allegri 1.0 (despite his poor second stint) for their contributions.

This guy is doing his best to choke the title and you people want him back. You never learned anything after the Allegri v2 fiasco.
Have you seen Napoli’s squad? Even being in a title race with this band of shit cunts is a miracle.

I hate the guy, but I think he’s our only shot at coming back to relevancy in Serie A. We’ve tried so many other gambles and failed miserably. Time for a guarantee.

Yeah, I can't stand the cunt, but that team has no business fighting for the scudetto, it's rather bad. Turning shite into gold for sure.

Plus a better Napoli side with Oshimen and Kara finished 10th last season.

I hate his guts too but he’s the safest bet right now for us. Maybe he can build a team in 2-3 years and than fuck off for good.

Especially when Tudor Mancini and co are the alternatives

Yeah it’s quite miraculous. Like I said, would rather we didn’t return with cap in hand to that asshole and bow down to him…but we’re almost all out of options now. Enough top 4 Scudetti, time for the real ones again.

Remember a time when people tired of winning Serie A and wanted a manager who could possibly bring European glory.

How we might perhaps miss those days.

I was one of the few who never got tired of us lording it over the scum of this league.

And anyway; being dominant in Italy usual translates to us to at least doing somewhat reasonably in Europe.

It definitely does. Look at Inter during the last few years- ever since their 2010 season, they were atrocious in Europe (apart from one EL run to the final) till the season won the league in 2020-21. Since then they’ve reached 2 CL finals in 4 years.

Winning breeds more winning.
