Imo at this point it's not just about money, i think Conte really felt let down by Chelsea and wants to make them pay literally and figuratively
and totally understandable, even if missing a gig at Madrid is a high price to pay.

it's just funny that Antonio wants to make them pay, ADL wants to milk them, Abram is pissed at England and Hazard will probably try to force his way to Real this summer, hard times for the blue bus

My take on it aswell, however for a coach like Antonio the Madrid bench just can't be refused, i believe he'll take it without hesitation if a clear offer does arrive, tho atm there are a lot of mind games going on between both him and Chelsea aswell as all the way to Sarri and Napoli which are perhaps stalling further movement.

One way or the other it's definitely gonna be fun to see how this saga eventually pans out. :D

Chelsea sue Conte over Costa?
By Football Italia staff

In a bizarre twist, it’s reported Chelsea are trying to avoid paying Antonio Conte’s pay-off, claiming he cost them money for Diego Costa.

The situation has dragged on for months and a deal is practically done with Maurizio Sarri, even if he has to work out a gentlemen’s agreement with Napoli to end his contract.

Chelsea face having to pay for two tacticians, as Conte has a clause bagging him €11m between his salary and that of his staff if sacked before the June 2019 expiry.

According to English newspapers today, Roman Abramovich’s lawyers are at work trying to argue that Conte owes them compensation for ruining the Diego Costa situation.

Conte famously sent a text message to the striker last summer, informing him that he was no longer part of the team’s plans.

Costa returned to Brazil on vacation and refused to return, eventually agreeing a €66m move to his old club Atletico Madrid in January.

The actions of the Coach cost Chelsea money and put them in a very weak bargaining position with Atleti.

Throughout the whole Sarri-Conte situation, Chelsea have been using delaying tactics to find loopholes and avoid paying out for either of the two tacticians.

Drama as in win in his first season? this claim is frivolous at best and just lawyer gymnastics to try to get out of paying the man what he is due.

Is Roman broke? Chelsea are acting like it.
If you believe Forbes, Abramovich net worth has been steadily increasing the past few years. Maybe he just wants to make some money back like his buddy in Monaco
