Lippi on Conte's idea: Italy don't need training camps, this is the last of all problems, nobody has them, not Spain, nor Germany. There are greater problems, like finishing championship a little earlier.
'Conte best Italy tactician' By Football Italia staff
Midfielder Marco Verratti says Antonio Conte is 'tactically' the best Coach he's ever had, whilst discussing his own role on the pitch.
The 22-year-old might have joined his current mentor earlier had he accepted a transfer to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain, but he seems to be more than happy to work with him now.
“Every Coach has a different football philosophy,” he said in today's Press conference.
“Conte wants us to create numerical superiority with the intensity of our game.
“He's helping me understand many things and I comprehend him better every day. From a tactical point of view, he's the best Coach I’ve ever had. “In the midfield, I’ve played in many positions. I feel good in all of them.
“A player's willingness to understand what the Coach wants from him is fundamental, and it's the same thing in the national team. “I think I can play in front of the defence, but then I must not lose the ball. That's the most important thing in that position."
Verratti is arguably the most highly valued Italian player right now, but in his statements he opted for a decidedly humble approach.
“I don't think I'm the best player in the national team. There are some great champions ahead of me who have won everything.
“When [Andrea] Pirlo and [Daniele] De Rossi are here, it's normal that they should play.
“I'll always be available, but that doesn't mean I always have to play, I've got to earn my spot. “A young player must work even harder because it's understandable that a Coach should rely on the experienced players first. “I'll try, but I won't make a fuss if Pirlo comes back and I go on the bench.
“If I play together with Pirlo, then that'll be the Coach's decision. For a Coach it's good when there are many strong players. Competition helps you win trophies.”
"When [Andrea] Pirlo and [Daniele] De Rossi are here, it's normal that they should play"
This italian mentality... It's nice and all, but this is professional sports and just because they have those names doesn't mean they automaticly should play. That is one of the reasons why these guys plays until 38 and in starting lineups in biggest italian teams.
No doubt. He's arguably the best Italian midfielder in the world.
@Hustini Remember those days, man? Those days when we fought for this kid to come to Juve?
De Rossi has sucked for 3 years now. Pirlo is ancient and well into decline. Verratti is young and has the potential to be the best Italian mid by far, but he's not there yet.
Based on this season alone, Marchisio has been the best and most consistent Italian MF.
No doubt. He's arguably the best Italian midfielder in the world.

Pirlo is way better than De Rossi these past 4 years. De Rossi has been a massive defensive liability for Roma this year. He gives away the ball every other time he touches it.
