Not making it past the groups with Conte is a blessing in disguise

The brand damage our brain dead slow motion hoofball would do to a huge audience in 2 consecutive years would probably ensure Serie A was shown exclusively on MTV with a 10 year £30,000 deal

We won today playing 3-5-2.

Its not the formation, its the mentality. This is our first game in Europe where we had our Serie A confidence on the continent since Bayern broke us mentally.

Just remember Conte went haywire after the Bayern loss in the quarters. Let's see how Allegri reacts after the quarters :D
All we need is to lose in a tight match and not get schooled.

I think we still would have won if Pogba didn't get injured and we stayed with 4-3-1-2 but I think we would have switched to 3-5-2 closer to the end. But I agree that it is all in the mentality and we were finally confident in Europe. It was a perfect performance.

no,it is the formation.

Dortmund tried to force their play in the middle of the pitch, which is suicidal when that pitch has vidal amd marchisio in the center.

I guarantee that if they had fit players to play out wide then the game would have been harder. it's not a secret that juve's 3-5-2 struggles against wingers and it's the reason we are better off avoiding bayern and real madrid

Yeah Bayern Real Madrid and Barca would be really tough opponents.

We should avoid them either way.

My claim was that our biggest problem was never the formation. 3-5-2 is better in some contexts than others just like any other formation. Blanket statements that claimed 3-5-2 is guaranteed failure in Europe were off. Sometimes it'll be better like today and sometimes it'll be ill-suited like against Madrid.
Our biggest problem was mentally, we switched to 4-3-3 in matches where that was more suitable and we still threw away the games (Galata and Madrid).

Anyone remember him saying that no italian team will reach the semi-final of the CL for a long time? How funny would it be if Allegri done it the year after he said it with Juve lol.
