This notion that you only show ambition by spending money has to stop. We spend within our means. If we don't then if we have one bad season on the pitch it will set us back years again. At that point having a team and players like we currently have will be a pipe dream.

Conte can demand what he wants, he doesn't come across as a particularly reasonable guy once he gets the bit between his teeth, but we aren't going to start taking loans from Exor to 'show ambition', it just adds to our debt and financial pressure, and puts questions against our FFP solvency.

At the end of the day Conte will need a rich team to back his obvious vision of winning in football, and I don't see many vacancies around. If he want to coach in front of 67 fans in Monaco then good luck to him.

My issue with what he says is that it also wouldn't put much confidence in the players.

If Conte were to leave, we have to hire a foreign coach, as all the good Italian ones are taken. Prandelli won't be leaving Italy before Euro 2016 (my personal feeling), Ancelotti is on lock-down in Madrid, and Lippi seems to be enjoying life in China.

Still, I'd rather stick with the guy who won us 3 consecutive Scudetti, as I feel anyone available will be a massive step backwards.

I believe some limits have been breached and there's no return now. I'd like for Conte to stay, but to me it seems that he's little bit afraid of the challenge ahead of him. Conte now and Conte from a few years ago are completely different persons. He's been handed with a few very good individuals every summer, but it's up to him to stir things up, make some changes as most top coaches in the game realize that playing with the same tactical setup is simply condemned to a failure at one point. In the last 2 years he experimented in only handful of games and I don't believe the entire blame lies on our mgt for not providing him with more variety.

Well, neither you nor I know what exactly is going on. However, if his demands are 2 wingers like Nani and Sanchez, a couple of versatile players in midfield, a CB cover, and a decent quality LB, then his demands are by no means unreasonable.

You're right, we don't know that, but I've read that he wants to start next year from the scratch, without pressure for obtaining the results. That is what media have been writing lately. He allegedly wants 10-12 new players, mostly youngsters to start a new cycle, while Agnelli actually wants mercato similar to previous few years, few good additions that would improve the team instantly, but not exactly the top players. We'll know more in the next few days.

its not that we haven't been preforming great in Europe with the players we have.
they are not playing to their potential and our game plan is wrong a lot of the time in Europe. Its not like with 2 good players our whole approach to Europe will change, with the players we have we should have shitted on a lot of our opponents, so if Conte is blaming the players we have and the club for Europe then he is wrong.

Most expensive buy is Sanchez followed up by a bargain on Nani. Include some player sales and getting those off the books will only make it easier. Sounds like Sanchez is ready to come back to Italy and what a purchase that would be if it happens.

I am not saying that is not down to the players completely, but all I am saying is that Conte's tactics have been poor in Europe, and that is a fact. Its fine losing 2-0 to Bayern munich, they are one of the best in the world but when we can get out of a group like we had this year it is not good at all. Im not saying we should get rid of Conte because he has done great and I hope we should keep him for a long time but our tactics in Europe must change. and new players will do that. its just that we have been underperforming, the fault lies with the players but also with conte

Agnelli and the board should do their utmost to keep Conte at the club. He has turned this club around in three short years, we are two years ahead of schedule for crying out loud.

I'm all for being financially frugal and not blowing money when it isn't necessary but there comes a time and a place (now) were we need to splash some decent cash and get Conte who he wants, otherwise we are just going to regress. This current team has reached the glass ceiling in terms of progression in Europe, Conte knows it and so do most of us.

The man needs to stay with us, bottom line.

That is part of the whole 'underdog rallying against the odds' mentality that he often uses, Mourinho is another who tries to downplay his team to the media, yet behind the scenes treats them like sons.

I just have a hard time believing he would want to even coach a team like monacrap. sure they have near inifinite resources but with the FFP in place they are surely not as sustainable as Juve are, at least in terms of a actual business plan or commercially. asides from them who else would attract Conte? psg maybe? but right now Conte is at the best possible place, I can only hope he isn't seriously considering an exit rather he is making demands (and rightly so).

at the end of the day I hope he listens to his heart because that ought to be screaming Juve at him. He must surely know that by leaving he has effectively destroyed all the work and progress he has made and leaving them exposed. Any real fan would never do that to the club.

We should tell him how it will be for this season, promise him more quality next summer when those new sponsorship deals roll in, and see where we are after the 5 years.
