Why are you excited? Wasnt it just this earlier this week both Conte and Marrotta said dont expect much spending? Conte said it as criticism (which this meeting is about I bet) and Marrotta to prepare the fans for modest summer, said next summer is more likely to be a more bigger spending one.

The CL campaign was this years sucker punch. Mind you, if we reached the 1/8 final again we'd end up buying another 4 Peluso's and sticking to the 3-5-2
I mean for the transfer window, but I never get excited, we often hear fairytale stuff at this time of year. Journalists are bored as the season ends and rumour mill begins.

I know. Im always excited at the start of the summer. Then when the transfer window actually opens in July I start deflating.
Why? We brought good players last summer, the likes of Llorente and Tevez certainly would qualify in a top player category; year before Asamoah, Isla and Giovinco were our most prominent acquisitions, also all three coming here after a great season; in the summer of 2011 players like Licht, Vucinic, Vidal and Pirlo. You see the pattern here, we tend to have great mercato, no matter that we didn't spend big on individuals, but our overall expenditure in those 3 years surpassed 200m, the amount spent on established players and some rather promising youngsters.

Considering that we close our books on 30th of June and all investments on the market will occur after that point, our probable loss won't be impacted. For this reason I can see us spending similar amount as in previous seasons, that is between 60-70m. I'm only curious what our strategy will be.

The problem is.. from the financial point of view, since splashing cash on transfers 3 years ago, the club is controlling its expenses year by year, and at the same time managing to improve the team. This should go on during this semester also - improve the squad, no big signings. Probably the summer of 2015 would be when we'd be able to really spend some money again.

But from the football point of view, Conte is right. We need some serious changes in the squad now. But requires much more investment than what was planned.

It's up to Agnelli now.

I seriously hate it when people go like this, after we are 1 game away from breaking the all time point record in serie a.

There is so much talent in this team, it can perfectly handle itself in europe like this. And if we want to go wingers, there are realistic options aswel.

I hate it when people go like. Oh well, lets change half the team and spend a fortune. Fuck no. Develop the team slowly.

Fucking Conte himself is recognizing this.

It's not about quality. It's about repetition and predictability. This team needs different playing options. We lost fair and square to fucking Benfica, ffs. We obviously need a change. And not necessarily spending loads of money.

I loved all of those signings and was also stoked about them. I'm just saying we usually start off our mercato being linked with the big money names(25+) and then dont get any of them.
