Best given the squad available. The 4-3-3 is an offensive formation that needs wingers that not only can attack but also track back and defend. Lazy Vucinic and the midget can barely attack let alone have a high work rate AND defend.
Like Conte always says: Pepe, a mediocre player, is the only player that has the balance to somewhat attack and defend in the squad. Isla can do neither. Asa, like licht, can only defend.
The 4-3-3 worked in bringing us two goals tonight (and I wont blame it for the goal conceded) because our opposition parked the bus. It would be naive to think that every team we'll face will park the bus from the start and that we'll fail to break them down without a tactical switch.
The best strategy is to start with the regular 3-5-2 and if the opposition parks the bus and we fail to score a goal then we switch midgame to the 4-3-3.

Bench Pirlo when using 4-3-3 if you're worried about defence, use Marchisio or Asamoah in the middle and you still have 7 players willing to defend. That leaves 3 offensive players which is 1 more than the 3-5-2 offers. And believe me, we need at least one more offensive player contributing.
Good point if it weren't for one little nugget that you missed. Robbery, Neymar and the likes pin defenders back all game because of the havoc they wreak upfront. By being so good at attack they force teams to play through the middle or risk having a miss-pass close to goal. Even a peak-level roberto carlos will stay back if CR7 is playing against him on the wing.
If we had that type of players that can keep the ball in the opponent's end of the pitch for prolonged periods and consistently threaten the opposition's defense then it would be great to use the 4-3-3 as the primary formation.
But as things stand, if you rely on the likes of Isla, giovinco, Asamoah and Licht as attacking wingers, they'll be neutralized like any other mid-table team's players get neutralized most of the time and opponents wont be forced to play through the middle or park the bus. A 4-3-3 with our current squad would be almost a copy of the 3-5-2 only Asa and licht will have their offensive weaknesses exposed and their defensive qualities will be under-utilized.

His post game interview is kinda weird. He said that he cant play 4-3-3 because we don't have wingers that can dribble their opponent "like Pepe". And more specifically our right wing is the problem. No Pepe, no party...
He also said "it's not like I can put Lichtsteiner/Isla as RW" and "We have 5 center attackers, only Pepe is a true winger." (Giovinco?! 
)
I don't know, he really seems confused and disappointed that he didn't get a right winger. At this point I think our interest in Nani was very serious. Watch us getting Menez in the winter mercato

We dont have wingbacks that can dribble past their opponents.
Licht is good at running behind the defence, and asamoah at the defence, but none are good at running trough it.
Asa usuallybursts past and crosses or cuts back. fine but thats not dribbeling. Dribbeling would be actually taking on your man 1v1 and get past and shoot
