Conte has become a victim of his own success. He doesn't question him self and doesn't want to change the formation when it clearly has not worked for us this season. He thinks he cant make mistakes right now and will point to the budget or the fact the formation won us the Scudetto last season. If you stand still in anything involving competition whether it's sport or business the competitors catch up with u and eventually pass u.

I would not be that disappointed if he was gone at the end of the season. He is not learning from his mistakes at all as coach and is unbelievably stubborn. We won the last 2 Scudetto due to lack of competition and the team being very very hungry for success. Now that Hunger is not there any more as it takes the other team scoring a goal and the fear of us losing the game for the team to try and win the game. His defensive tactics are not working any more, that was the base for our success that we were so good defensively and gave little away. Now the team is not defending well and we are being exposed in attack and defence now. Marotta has also failed to land a LB for the team which is a big problem when this formation requires offensive wing backs to get the attack going.

Mancini : “I don’t think this is the best Juventus, as shown by their recent struggles, but that’s normal for a team that has won everything in two years. They also face teams that are more closed down and block the spaces.

“We had decided to sit back and wait for them to ensure we wouldn’t leave space behind the defence, as we knew Juve liked long passes with Andrea Pirlo over the top."

First of: I don't really care what formation we play. 352, 433, 442, etc, in the end that's only a detail anyway.

But if you want to play 433 with overlapping fullbacks, situations like the one we saw today will often arise. Can't really avoid them, even if you obviously do have to handle them better.
Having one CB less is hardly just a detail. Overlapping fullback would be able to stretch the opponent more, put in more crosses. Players like Llorente would became invaluable members of our team, instead of sitting on the bench and watching our CBs exchanging endless passes between themselves. We would lose some solidity at the back but do we seriously have to play with 5 defenders most of the time. We can't use the same setup vs every opponent. If Conte can't figure this out then...

We arent even playing with 5 defenders once either barzagli, bonucci, or chiellini step forward and get caught out. If anything the 3-5-2 this season has obviously shown that everyone is realizing what Juve do. They play from the defence and pass to pirlo. Now they are marking pirlo, forcing our cbs to push and catching us on the counter. I agree though a 4-3-3 or something with a back 4 is where we need to go

Asamoah is not a left back.
He's not a lwb either. He played both those positions. Just like Licht isnt a lwb, just like pogba isnt a regista. What does it matter? Asa offers nothing offensively, I put Asa just cause if he can play lwb why cant he play as a makeshift lb?

i'm sure he's not lack of tactic, but he is too stubborn to changed it
i miss 1st season conte when he changed his basic 424 to 433 then 352 when needed
but 352 give him 2 scudetti and he praise it like a god

inb4 we need pepe, mister

We badly need something new in this team to freshen it up.

Whether that is a change of tactic or a new player, it doesn't really matter but it has gone very stale.

I'll always appreciate what Conte has done for us

But he needs to scrap this 3-5-2, at least in Europe and start buiilding for a 4-3-3. Or, any other back 4 formation ffs.

Also, his obsession with painting us as the 'underdog' in literally every fkn European match is a joke. Result? Playing long balls against f*cking Galatasaray and Copenhagen.

Like I said, essentially I don't care which formation we use. But people who are desperate to see us play 433 need to realize that it has pro's as well as cons.

Also, I don't think we play with 5 defenders. Both our wingbacks are often/usually ahead of our midfield. Not that it matters much.
