Well, that shouldn't surprise you considering Conte appears to have something of a reputation around here to be bad at making the right substitutions at the right time. He either makes them too late or introduces the wrong players.

Don't know why would anyone say such a thing, though considering there were so many cases when the team was underperforming in the first halfs of games but Conte stick with the same players after the break and then they show up and end up winning the game.

A lot of people would be making rotations at half time when something is going wrong even if it has nothing to do with the players who are on the field. This is exactly why this team is such a strong unit and why Conte is such an influential figure. He believes and trusts his players and they know that which, among other things is exactly why they have been so amazingly consistent since he became head coach.

What do you mean by a 'better Ajax team' ? Have you actually watched the 96 final ? Ajax are totally outplayed, Juve could have easily won by three or four goals.

In 1997 Dortmund win by luck, in 1998 Real win with a goal from a 2m offside. Both times Juve is the better team in the final, but Dortmund and Real are weaker teams than Ajax in 1996.
