Lol Conte said shit and he is acting like a pussy, team > coach, we can't spend big, there is a crysis in economy in italy, and Conte is acting like he don't understand it, so don't fuck the board of directors and with the fans, just resign and go to the richer club
Ever since we lost to Bayern, you're interpreting everything Conte says negatively.

Because he became annoying as fuck, never heard such a bullshit from any coach "me the professional want this" and "me the man want this" , if you have split personality then go to doctor, send somebody else to give prematch interview

The fact of the matter is, that Conte has taken this team to a higher level, better and faster than the management planned it. They planned the project with gradual growth, but instead we've been able to make significant leaps with Conte. While I don't agree with his decision making sometimes, I think he is right to expect the board to keep up with the rate of the team's growth. Some of us in here are making it sound like its a bad thing that Conte wants a certain level of quality for the team to move forward. For better or worse, hes backed his words with actions on the pitch. It's up to the board to keep up. We can't make excuses about a weak economy or a poor turnover. That's not going to change in the foreseeable future. Conte or not, this team is maxed out on work ethic and depth. Its in need of game changing quality. We can't blame the coach for that.

Absolutely spot on.
Also I think it was the combination of other teams' decisions too. But Conte is absolutely right to ask for better professional options, he isn't asking for a fat personal contract after all. We can't beat others in that respect anyhow.
His team is enormous, hard to keep motivated plus in form and maxed out in growth indeed. We need quality.

Good post @baggio. Conte has indeed gotten everything he could out of this squad, and now it's time to take Juventus to another level. Conte loves Juve, no one can ever put that into question, but at the end of the day he is a winner. He only wants to win, no matter what. As I've said to a few others, it is his sole purpose in life; what he was built to do. He wants to ensure that Juve becomes equipped to truly compete for the Champions League. If the club can't keep up with his drive, ambition and desire to win, then he will consider his options.

The way I see it, we're at a crossroad this summer. The club has to decide whether or not it truly wants to play with the big guns, or just pretend. Although I'm a bit surprised by the timing of Conte's quotes, I don't see anything wrong with what he said.

What I meant was; this squad can win the scudetto at max. Which is a great achievement. But Conte wants the CL, and we'd need one or two truly great reinforcements if we ever were to make a serious bid for that trophy. All Conte wants is to make sure that such a player will arrive, and I see that as a good thing. It will also cast a light on just how ambitious we are as a club.

I'm not saying that this squad, under Conte's guidance, can't win the scudetto again. I'm just saying I don't see a squad of this quality going all the way in the CL. We'd need one or two special players on top of what we have for that to happen.

First of all, Conte is not bitching. He's making a very rational demand based on merit. He has exceeded expectations 2 years in a row, bringing home the grand domestic prize in two out of two attempts. He's a star coach now, and a sought-after commodity in the football world. Second of all, I didn't say anything about a 30 million plus asking price. I don't think Conte is concerned about the transfer fees, as that isn't his job to be concerned about that. That's Marotta's job. Conte is concerned about - and I was only talking about - raising the quality of our playing-squad.

Whether that happens by signing an established world class player or making a smart investment like Napoli did with Cavani before he blew up or Bayern did when they signed Mandzukic: that's up to the club.

Conte's only concern is that such a quality of player will arrive. So that he can have a great shot at winning the CL.

This is where the truth lies J83. The club has talked and talked about the CL ambitions, and Conte has delivered on the pitch with top results. I don't see anything wrong with his timing. He's put his cards on the table like a professional. The club need to stop beating around the bush and do the same, or he walks. Fair enough for me. I won't grudge him at all. Infact I would blame the club for failing to operate outside of their comfort zone financially or otherwise. You want to play with the big boys, you got to have the quality to measure up. If Conte made this demand last year, I'd think he's getting ahead of himself. Two years in a row, and the second year even easier than the first. Is only right he and we set the bar higher. It's the only way forward.

So you telling me that Conte is bitching around just because we can't sign any player with 30m+ price tag? bullshit
RUS I'm sure any club in Europe right now can offer him double the salary of what we are paying him, but he would still love to stay and win the CL with Juve if he gets the right quality players. Think about it from his perspective. There is only so far this team can go with these resources. He is right about whoever and whatever he wants for the team coz he knows better than anybody else what its going to take to the next level, considering he is largely responsible for getting us to this one.

Last time, when we won CL, we had:

GK 1 Angelo Peruzzi
CB 2 Ciro Ferrara
LB 3 Gianluca Pessotto
RB 4 Moreno Torricelli '
CB 5 Pietro Vierchowod
CM 6 Paulo Sousa
LM 7 Didier Deschamps
RM 8 Antonio Conte
CF 9 Gianluca Vialli (c)
LF 10 Alessandro Del Piero
RF 11 Fabrizio Ravanelli
Substitutions:
GK 12 Michelangelo Rampulla
DF 13 Sergio Porrini
MF 14 Vladimir Jugović
MF 15 Angelo Di Livio
FW 16 Michele Padovano

Are you telling me that our team is worse now??

As for Conte - about what he was thinking year ago when he accepted renewal 'til 2015 year? if he wasn't confident that board of directors will buy him superstars?
