Just read the article on TJ and it says that Marotta wants power in the market (and in the club in general) while limiting Conte's influence. I imagine it's basically the same as the relationship Beppe had with Delneri, where the coach was given a team to work with, day starts and ends on the training pitch.

Goes on to say that Conte is a favourite of the president, and Nedvěd also has his back in this. Paratici's relationship with Marotta might not last as he gets on well with Pavel and Conte.

There is some other stuff about Chelsea's interest in Conte but I don't think that is relevant.
