dont quite like late subs, particularly in matches like this when we needed it

(okay not sure how late is late to be fair somehow my screen didn't show the clock and score, it was like a slow painful death watching the game)

Maybe Conte/Alessio or whoever isnt changing the tactics cause they are too affraid of a loss. To be honest, with Chiello, BonBon and Barza in the back in a 3-5-2 i really dont see us loosing a match in Seria A. We are just unable to loose in this formation and that is a fact. I think everyone in Juve is affraid to change anything at this point and imo changes wont come till after our first defeat...

The tactics and team selection are fine.

The only problem Juve have in Serie A is there shit finishing, which is all that is making these game competitive.

In pretty much every game Juve are missing two, three, four absolutely clear chances.

It really is hard to improve on what we've achieved defensively. We have the ball the whole game and give up like 3 shots a game on average. 0 shots on target today for Catania (except for their disallowed goal). 3 shots against vs. Napoli who is #2 in the table FFS.

Its the final third that is the problem, and everyone is aware of it. And i dont know why our MF players constantly play those low, hard passes to our attackers when none of them has the first touch needed to deal with a pass like that. We loose the ball countless times after one of our attackers (mainly Gio) doesnt manage to get a pass like that under control. We were more patient in our attacks last year, in 4-3-3 and in 3-5-2. I also think our players are under big pressure.

I don't agree at all.

Juve are unable to dominate with the current formation for a number of reasons, one of which is a lack of true wingers.
Rubbish, we've dominated nearly every team we've played in Serie A this season. Our cack finishing has fooled a lot of people into thinking our formation isnt working, which is clearly wrong, as we create plenty of chances every game. Also we look much more secure in defence and midfield with this formation.

I personally prefer the 4-3-3, because its a much more exciting and dynamic formation (for our playing personnel) but there is no doubt I feel our team is much more in control when we play 3-5-2.

Conte knows what he is doing.

He does, and I also believe we'll play better once he returns to the bench.

Huge credit to Carrera and Alessio for the work they've done/are doing, but there's no substitue for Conte roaming about on the sidelines.

Holding possession doesn't mean you dominate a match and our chances have not been as clear cut as many are preaching, most have been half-chances that only world class strikers could finish off with regular success.

No, we've missed PLENTY of clear cut chances. Like glaring, terrible misses. Across both Serie A and the CL. Dont know how anyone can deny it.

:agree: on both counts. It's gonna be good to have him back. His instructions from the sidelines, his half time team talks (gee ups!) as well as his in game tactical switches/variations. It will be a massive boost for us psychologically as well.
