Lippi wants Conte dynasty
1 April 2012

Marcelo Lippi has advised Juventus coach Antonio Conte to ignore the rumoured interest of Tottenham Hotspur in his services.

Lippi, who guided Juve to five Serie A titles and Champions League success during his time at the club, wants Conte to stay in Turin and focus on beginning a new cycle of success at one of Italy's traditional powerhouses.

Conte, who played under Lippi, has overseen an impressive transformation in Juve's fortunes since taking over as coach in May 2011.

The former midfielder has turned a team which had finished seventh in each of the previous two seasons into realistic title challengers.

The 42-year-old is now being linked with English Premier League club Tottenham, who are expected to lose manager Harry Redknapp to the England national team at the end of the campaign.

"I'm not surprised by Tottenham sounding out Conte as there is always great interest in emerging coaches," Lippi told Tuttosport.

"I myself received many important offers but when you see the possibility of opening a new cycle of success with Juventus, you cannot find anything better."

Lippi also said he would like to see former charge Alessandro Del Piero finish his illustrious career with Juve.

The veteran forward is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a lucrative move to Major League Soccer or the Middle East.

"I do not know if he (Del Piero) will finish his career with Juventus," Lippi said.

"But I am sure that he will continue to play."

Juve, unbeaten in Serie A this term, are second on the table, five points behind reigning champions AC Milan.

Cron. :sergio:

It's better to admit your wrong that to lie to yourself. It's make you look hypocritical.
Being wrong, where exactly?
Was I wrong to say that Conte was unproven in serie a?
Was i wrong to ask our management to start taking risks for the 6th consecutive time?
Was I wrong not to want Conte to end up like ferrara and take his chances after a couple of years in serie a?

These were the facts in hand then and there and that was the right decision.
I only get the chance to see Conte teams and the tactic changes I described in the pre games with the Milan teams, right before the season started, who could anyone have known before the season starts.

The point is to play it wise and have the chances with your side.
With wild cards, vyou play against the odds, with established coaches, with the odds in Ye favor.
Both ways there are no guarantees in life, but if one of the 6 wild cards succeds it doesn't mean that this is the wisest choice to do...

I guess you are too young and enthusiastic to know this, in time, within the inevitable process of maturity, you will get the point. Young agnellis too...

This man makes it too difficult for his own good. Not learning from his mistakes is his biggest flaw.
I honestly don't think it's his brain, I think something must be going on, something like sponsorship or contract or something; with that said though, I wonder why our coaches always have this fetish toward certain players like ranieri with nedved and molinaro, etc it's weird...

Conte must be trying to outthink the universe, with some sort of imagined probability equation - naturally Boriello's gotta be due, right?

Given the potential to gain a stranglehold on a CL spot, this is basically the biggest game of the year, and we're starting Boriello, and adjusting our formation to Naples Soccer. Championship teams focus on their game, play to their strengths, impose their will, and force their opponents to adjust to them (at least to begin the match)!

Fuck this 3-5-2 already. I don't mind it as an in game adjustment, but starting with this formation plus Boriello is almost like burning two subs right off the bat.
