The players showed great will and determination, though.

Someone pointed out earlier that had it been last season, we would have lost this game. I believe this to be correct.

We faced one of the worst opponents we could've faced after the international break in my opinion. There was not a single moment in the days leading up to this game that I believed in victory.

But when I look at our next three matches: Genoa home, viola home, inter away, I do not fear them half as much as I feared playing Chievo away after the international break. I even think we could get 9 points out of those.

LOL
People were praising Conte and two weeks later they look to him like he's still a Serie B coach.
I think there's no wrong in criticizing Conte, I like him a lot but he's not perfect. Nobody is for that matter.

Bashing is obviously not good, but Criticism is. In general, if you're not critical about what you do, you simply won't improve.

Can't fathom why he starts someone like Krasic every week and says we need to be "patient" with him but doesn't give players like Elia Estigaribbia and Quag even a chance.

I agree, there's always a point in criticizing in hindsight. Like, when you see something that's not working, it's perfectly all right to point that out. The only posts I have a problem with are the ones about formations BEFORE the games, or the people who think we should stick to one formation and lineup in general, because they are "our best players". Man, if you haven't been at Vinovo lately and know about the players' form, just shut the fuck up.

My point exactly. I have no problems with those criticizing in hindsight. But "Oh FFS Giaccherini on the wing :sergio :sergio:" Before the match is frickin laughable. What did Krasic do all game?

Do you remember how many people wanted Krasic to start when Conte benched him in the first game against Parma? And we won that freaking game scoring 4 beautiful goals!

I'd say just let Conte work in peace, he trains these guys every day. It's obvious that Conte doesn't care about individuals, team winning is the goal.

Its called criticizing. After the Milan game everybody praised him and now people are criticizing him, I see no problems in that. We're just reviewing the last game.

Personally, I think he's doing good in keeping our 3 man midfield because those 3 guys are our weapon. I just wish he could have played more of a 4-3-3 than 4-5-1 so that our wingers could give the lone striker more help in attack. Vucinic - Matri - Krasic(Quag) against the bad teams.

chievo at home are never easy to beat.. They are probably consistently one of the toughest teams in serie A on home field the past few years... I am pretty sure you heard the home crowd cheers..

Thou, Conte should have taken Krasic off the start of the 2nd.. To late with his subs or changing tactics IMO

We dominate possession so easily because we can dominate the midfield now and our back line has been a strong force as well. Starting the ball out of the back helps too, instead of on goal kicks booting the ball forward or Buffon kicking it out...we always start out of the back which is fantastic and we control the flow going forward...we just ruin it with our final balls.

What I don't get is it is so evident that, despite controlling possession, we just can't create. We show consistency in struggling against the small teams so why the fuck is Conte not giving our creative players starting spots...players like DP, Quag, Esti, or Elia? Krasic will never EVER create shit and Pepe, well that's just not what he does. Aside from the occasional precision pass from Pirlo opening up the defense or CM making a deadly run forward, that is just about it.

It isn't like we have all star attacking wing backs, actually the exact opposite. I love our back line now, sturdy as an Oak tree but all our hard work maintaining possession is pretty much for nothing.

We are lucky to be in first place, to be honest IMO. Other teams have slipped while we have played some exceptional matches gaining points but also slipping against weak teams. Conte needs to find a way to incorporate these players more effectively while maintaining control of the possession like we have been.

No one is an expert here, and I still trust Conte but am concerned with his starting krasic, subbing him off around 60 mins for Giach then moving Pepe to the right...almost every game now Krasic has played that has been the exact sub rotation. Why not just start Esti/Elia...fuck the language barrier...sink or swim because right now he is showing so much faith in Krasic while he is sinking...certainly not swimming.

I agree, it's starting to remind me of that Motta/Sorensen shit Delneri would pull off. Unless Krasic gains form, stop starting him, his pace would probably make him better as a late sub anyways.

YES!!!!!!!!! Exactly, ALC. It's pissing me off. Conte doesn't seem like the guy that will tolerate it.

I think he'll figure something out, maybe he's just trying to give Krasic confidence. I'll be surprised if he starts again next week.
